Pity they didnt cast someone like Iko Uwais or Tony Jaa. Both exceptional martial arts actors. Uwais in the Raid 1 and 2 is awesome (his style is pencak silat though not some form of kung fu).
Uwais has released another one which looks like it could be Raid 3 for all but a name change.

Regarding Iron Fist - it was more Agents of Shield than DD/JJ also the incident at the end was predictable, ie where are all the bad guys

Just finished series 2, hmm! I was thinking I might not bother with S3, if there is one. However, the teaser for S3 moves things on in an interesting direction.

From what I've heard they probably should have gone with a genuine martial artist.
I heard the s2 is a step up from s1?

when I finally get netlfix I'm gonna watch the marvel stuff, and this will belast on the list. biggrin

Finally finished S2, was tough going at the start, really was. Almost didn't bother with the rest of the series after about Ep4 but I'm glad I did as the last few are brilliant, really switches it up! Will spoiler for those who haven't watched:

I was worried when Danny lost the Fist. He was already a whinging, petulant tossbag when he had it, so lord knows what he'd be like without it.

But nice to see him have a little bit of a journey.

But I can safely say I never expected Coleen to become the Iron Fist, that was certainly a surprise. As was the fact that somehow she can turn the katana into an extension of the fist, I'm guessing that's to do with the whole ancestry and the fact it was pre-destined for her to become the Fist.

I thought that whole bit was rushed a little, but they got there.

What did confuse me, was Danny at the end with the glowing guns - so is it just the guns that are mythical? Or has Danny somehow got his mojo/chi back and is also a Fist and can use those guns like Coleen was using the katana? Confusing.

But they really needed to add those bits in at the end as I doubt i'd have tuned in for another series had it just been Danny and his Grumpy Face.

Apparently a character called, Shang-Chi was meant to be one of the original avengers.
Seems he'd be good for a telly series now.

though of course it won't be netflix, it'll be the new marvel one.

Even at 10 episodes this felt too long. I watched to the end and it does get better. Though it often felt like homework. Wards storyline was dull.

I’ve enjoyed Daredevil and Punisher, the other Netflix shows for me have been disappointing.

Daredevil S3 is out in a few weeks which should be good, and there’s another Punisher on the way too. Those two are definitely the best series. Jessica Jones is quite good, Luke Cage is just about watchable and Fist is broadly similar. All IMO of course.

Not sure if we’ll get another Defenders series though, that might have just been a one off.

I think the Marvel channel alone will nix that. Netflix are basically now 3rd class heroes.

I agree about DD and Punisher, I can't get on with JJ, but I do like Luke Cage. I sorta enjoyed S1 of Iron Fist but S2 is dragging - I'm 3 or 4 episodes in but CBA to watch the rest at the moment

Real shame. I much preferred Iron Fist to Daredevil and Luke Cage.

It is, I liked the ending of Season 2 and where the potential direction was going. I'd much rather have seen another season of Iron Fist than Luke Cage!

Reports of Daredevil S3 are very good.
Iron fist may be back on Hulu....it wasn’t the best Netflix but it does make me wonder if this is Marvel winding down in Netflix

Just to clarify, Iron Fist has been cancelled on Netflix...

Disney is launching its own streaming service early next year, so I’m betting IF turns up there.

There are rumours of Loki and Scarlett Witch series’ too, with Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen starring.

This character was introduced in the comics around the time Kung fu was gaining popularity in the 70’s. Cool enough premise but the the character came into its own with A story line focusing on Kun Lunn (one of the 7 mystical cities Of heaven) and the other immortal weapons.

This show had great potential. The mistakes were myriad from the off. Appeared they were frightened of making the character to comic like hence no costume. Fair enough. But if they had masked him he could have been stunt doubled in the fight scenes. I was surprised they didn’t cast an Asian American as I can’t think of any Asian American superheroes and well, why not?

Focussing a storyline in NY was not what this character needed either. The villain in season 2 tried hard enough but wasn’t really threatening enough. Needed a super villain. Opportunity wasted sadly.

Caught up on the end of season 2, a bit of a shame that it won't be continued on Netflix. I can't see me subscribing to Disney's own streaming service so will either end up with piracy or just not watching further seasons.

I like the characters in Iron Fist, and it does feel like they were starting to get bedded in during season 2 and has been cut off too early.

If any of the Marvel super hero shows needed cancelling after season 2 I'd have said Jessica Jones was the weakest (I really enjoy Luke Cage and s3 of Daredevil will hopefully be another good one).

Nice vid that shows the breakdowns of viewership, shows how PM & IF weren't doing that well, also sort of highlights (like the grace vid) that we most likely won't see either character on disneyflix
