Carry on up the Khyber.

If only for the climactic scene of them eating dinner while the building is under attack.
Fakir off! Khyber is one of the best Carry Ons. There are much, much crappier ones.
I'd say it's by far the best Carry On. But as a series I think they fall within the remit of this thread.

I think Khyber, Cleo and Screaming are the best of them, and good enough not to be classed as crap.
The problem is that the corny puns and nudge-nudge wink-wink double entendre that the series was built on hasn't generally aged well.

Yeah, Screaming is my fave, and normally hailed as a genuinely good film, as is Khyber. SOme of the others also age well, some did not.
Jungle aged well also I think.

Weekend at Bernie's

I've not seen it in years but used to have it on vcr as a teen and watched it so much the tape wore out. I'd like to think if I saw it again I'd wonder why I liked it but suspect the reality is I'd still enjoy it. paperbag

O/T bit what have IMDB done to their site now? Who thought red text on a grey background was a good idea?

That's just the style for The Wraith page link above because it has a huge Netflix advert, blame Netflix.

Great thread although as others have stated some films mentioned are definitely not in the crap category.

My nomination

Equilibrium - Christian Bale before he became really famous. Basically a rip-off\mish mash of Matrix and the book 1984. B movie grade effects and acting for the main but even in this, Bale's potential that he'd already demonstrated in other films like American Psycho is plain to see and the Gun Kata martial arts scenes are inspired.

"Shoot the dog" wink

It isn't a crap film, it is just that it was not widely released.

The plot is pretty basic and a rip-off, a lot of the effects look like they are straight to DVD grade (check out the "explosions") and the acting apart from 2-3 people is second rate at best, especially the guards vs the resistance fighter scenes which look like the kind of gun fights we used to stage when I was 8, with the over exaggerated death scenes and all.

The only thing that really saves it is Christian Bale and the really cool fight scenes of which there aren't enough. Despite all that I still like it but my OH and lots of other people I know who watched it, thought it was rubbish.

Jaws 3 for me. Just for the hilariously bad and obvious 3D gimmicks.

I like 'Carry on at your convenience'. Gentle satire on 70s union strife.

Another crap film I like is Firefox.

I really liked the book but it was a bit of a let-down when the film came out. However, last time I saw it a few years ago it was a lot better than I remember; the on the ground bits are suitably gritty and downbeat and the flying sequences hold up well. I wish they'd filmed a few more of Thomas Craig's novels.

yes

The spy bits perfectly capture that cold war era grittiness and the flying scenes are pretty good considering the technology they had to work with at the time.

It's a good film. The Cold War stuff works. Eastwood does a solid job as a PTSD survivor. And the idea that the Soviets might have radar invisible fighter plane with thought interface was credible at the time. Well, I thought so anyway.
At the time I think it was weighed down by the expectation that it should have been something it's not.

I think people were expecting a bit more crash bang wallop right from the start.
