First time they have sworn on Star Trek series, and did it twice. What ever next biggrin
Added nothing , and spoilt what has always ( up to now) been something you can safely sit youngsters down to watch .
Dumbing down to appeal to those with restricted vocabularies.
bks
Just right for you then
To be honest it suprised me. However it don't consider the use of profanity indicative of a poor vocabulary or dumbing down.

I agree that it's unnecessary. Didn't add anything to the show other than shock value therefore bits nonsense.

I liked it, I felt it was the creators clearly singling their intent to deviate from the tried and tested Modus Operandi of the trek legacy (which in my mind was in no small part a key reason for the failure of discovery, seemingly backed up given their apparent acceptance of this and dark twist in the last series)

I'm looking forward to a more real world series which mires itself in the truth of civilisation and humanity, free from the shackles of being politically correct

We binged the first five yesterday, a few quick observations;

1, The lefties in space thing is still there but not quite as bad as other Star Trek series.

2, It doesn't quite fit in the the other ST series universe, but almost.

3, The Klingons should speak English !

But we absolutely loved it, all of it and cannot wait for the next one to drop onto Netflix.

Most definitely, it's one thing that really annoys me about the new Star Trek.

Enjoyed the latest episode, this series is certainly a darker version of the Trek universe.

Interesting revelation too.

I can see why some of the Trek nerds would appreciate the extra effort but it really does break the flow. I find myself almost switching off when the Klingons come on now and have to force myself to be attentive in case I miss something important.

The OTT space colours is starting to grate! What's wrong with a bit of black space?

It's been bugging me where I've seen the guy that the captain broke out from the Klingon's with and then it struck me, it's Clem Fandango from Toast Of London!

Just watched the latest episode and the wife made an interesting observation:

If the Klingons are speaking Klingon and subtitled, why is it that when there were two Vulcans together in a shuttle they were not speaking Vulcan and subtitled?

She has a point!

Fantastic episode.

Had a proper I am your father moment, followed immediately by a NO WAY??!! and the dog running into the living room to see what all of the commotion was about. On reflection obvious, but caught me completely unawares. Great stuff.

Netflix don't have a Vulcan dictionary so asked the Vulcans to speak English?

What you talking about Willis? I watched it and don't recall a big reveal.
