Star Trek: Discovery - New series on Netflix
Discussion
Quite enjoyed that. Lovely production, great use of landscape, some fresh tech and attitudes. Slightly worried we're going to get the ship back next week and it's just going to be a schlep around the galaxy rebuilding the Federation. Could still work though if they can bring us nice little episodes.
I'll reserve judgement on the series till later - Picard started well, but the second half of the series was incoherent navel gazing.

Reviews are saying that it's more of an episodic series without strong overarching plot threads. In other words, old-school Trek. But also, as you say, schleping...I'll reserve judgement on the series till later - Picard started well, but the second half of the series was incoherent navel gazing.

I’m assuming it’s still Star Trek : Burnham then?

Although I liked it and will watch the rest of it, I am back on the re-runs of DS9 on Netflix, good stuff.
Snap. I've skipped most of S1&S2, picked a few decent ones from S3 and started cracking with S4 once the Dominion really started to be the main storyline.

That was almost the perfect episode. Almost.
It was very bi-polar. Georgiou kicking ass, and Saru giving it the Please lets all be friends, this isn't what we're aboutIt's feeling far too early enterprise and nowhere near enough late DS9.
Stamets in the Jefferies tube, jesus I almost wanted to punch him!

Haven't seen it yet so going on what you said - Burnham gets killed? The latest S3 has that starwars prequel feel. Burnham as a character on the similar level as jarjar.
Get shot of this turd and get Pike's one on netflix.
