Quite enjoyed that. Lovely production, great use of landscape, some fresh tech and attitudes. Slightly worried we're going to get the ship back next week and it's just going to be a schlep around the galaxy rebuilding the Federation. Could still work though if they can bring us nice little episodes.

I'll reserve judgement on the series till later - Picard started well, but the second half of the series was incoherent navel gazing.

They should have just remade Flash Gordon with a female lead. Michael, aha, she saves everyone of us!
I’m assuming it’s still Star Trek : Burnham then? frown

Reviews are saying that it's more of an episodic series without strong overarching plot threads. In other words, old-school Trek. But also, as you say, schleping...

Won’t bother watching in that case. Think she’s a great actress but just cannot stand her character and the only likeable characters have been the one season rents-a-Captains.

Yup, agreed. The sooner they can get the Pike series going, the better.

The 1st episode was great but I feel like its not even about Star Trek nomore. Its just a brand new Sci Fi series.

Burnham needs to shed her goody 2 shoes persona. Even Tilly switches it up every now and then.

I thought it was fantastic, yes it wasn't all about ships in space, but hopefully the Pike show will take over from that.

This is fresh new Scifi and I love that.

Although I liked it and will watch the rest of it, I am back on the re-runs of DS9 on Netflix, good stuff.

Snap.

I've skipped most of S1&S2, picked a few decent ones from S3 and started cracking with S4 once the Dominion really started to be the main storyline.

indeed - all DS9 needed was an ancient vorlon in its hold.....

although as above, the longer DS9 went on the better it got.

it didnt need no S3 timeline reboot (cough Discovery cough)

It was very bi-polar. Georgiou kicking ass, and Saru giving it the Please lets all be friends, this isn't what we're about

It's feeling far too early enterprise and nowhere near enough late DS9.

Stamets in the Jefferies tube, jesus I almost wanted to punch him!

No, almost perfect. The perfect episode would be if she was killed, then by time travel everything was unravelled/erased and sent into a black hole, including Kurtzmann.

The latest S3 has that starwars prequel feel. Burnham as a character on the similar level as jarjar.

Get shot of this turd and get Pike's one on netflix.
