Saw this the other night, thought it was very refreshing, didn't follow the usual expected cliches.

Only one question, and hopefully this isn't a spoiler, I'll try and word it not to give anything away but if you've not seen the film, maybe stop reading (you won't be able to answer it anyway! biggrin )

Toward the end, the boss character is with them in the lift, they come out of the lift and there are three people waiting for them. Who were those people?
They were members of the corrupt police/gun runners that Jamie Foxx's character "killed" earlier in the movie; at the end of that shootout scene you seen one of the supposedly dead guys moving his hand (presumably they were wearing bullet proof vests).

Indeed. It is a music film with cars in it, rather than a car film with music in it.
Or maybe a nice blend of both.

Either way it was pretty good, some proper driving, most of it realistic and the music perfectly wrapped the movie. 8/10

Very enjoyable couple of hours - I can even forgive the ending, just about!

5.5/10

Way over hyped.

The opening scene could have been from any F&F movie, the early coffee run scene was cringe inducing to watch. Spacey's "change" in the later part was weak and felt driven by plot needs and nothing else.

18 mins too long.

Watch Hot Fuzz, House of Cars and the mini chase from the first Bourne Film......not this.

Ohh...and the 3 red cars???? Might as well have had the Rock driving one of them and be done with it!

Edgar has done better.

The fact may of us loved it and you didn't doesn't mean it was overhyped - whatever that really means. By critics , by those of us who did like it more than you did ? Love the 18minutes too long comment - really ? Not ..ermm.. 17 , or 19 but... 18 ?

Over hyped in that I am seeing social media comments saying "drop everything - you HAVE to see this". I understand many will like it, but there is a sheep attitude that see's some of those just following the others.

And 18...for sure.

It's not bad....I just went in hoping for an 8/10 and it's not. And given that Edgar's stuff is so distinctive, it just made me think of better stuff he's done. Heck, I'd rather watch Spaced.

OK- I avoid social media for that very reason - sign this , love that , hate them etc. I tend to read Mark Kermode and a couple of other reviewers first and then see a film if it sounds decent,Doesn't always work - the much lauded Twelve Years a Slave was actually a bloody dire piece of work I thought.

I went to see it because a few people on here recommended it and I watched a trailer and thought it looked good. I wasn't disappointed, it was excellent. Maybe 37.6 seconds too short, but otherwise excellent.

No 'media hype' needed.

Remarkably this is still going strong, just crossed $100m in the US and has made more than the Cornetto Trilogy and Scott Pilgrim combined.

Globally it's on $170m.

Watched it in 4K on shiny new TV last night, having seen it on release night at cinema.

Still brilliant!

Thoroughly enjoyed this film, felt a bit 'different' to recent films that I've seen so it immediately kept my interest (a bit like Driver did actually). The car scenes were excellent!

I'd urge you re-watch that scene.

It's done as a single take - i.e, no edits in from different angles done at different times. The timing is sublime and a joy to watch. I admit I'm a bit of film techie geek but I thought it brilliantly done.

Completely agree.

When I watched it the first time I thought "yeh, it's OK, maybe a 6/10. Then I found myself watching it with a friend of mine and then started seeing just how well the whole thing was executed.

This for me is the best film I've seen not just in 2017 but a very long time.

This. If you're not smiling during this scene, there's something wrong with you ;-)

Absolutely When you're concentrating less on the story you begin to pick up even more detail, like in the coffee run, a lot of the song lyrics are on posters and graffiti that he's walking past.

It is insanely detailed, I love how lyrics and song cues are perfectly edited with the visuals. The tequila scene is brilliant too.

I haven't bought a blue ray in years, but I think I.l go get this after seeing it this weekend.

Stunningly good film. Not really a car film. They were only apart of the whole.

The scene in the laundry was beatiful.
