I'm not a big Tennis fan but I do enjoy watching Wimbledon as it's just that bit special.

Only minor downside for me is that for some reason I cannot explain I dislike Andrew Castle.

My ex thought I was a bit odd that I had an irrational hatred for him.

I have no idea why I do?

Funny, he's the quintessential Wimbledon voice for me, I can't imagine commentary without him.

I'm not a tennis fan, but it's a national institution/tradition, only on for 2 weeks.

Even school became more informal back in the day, and teachers allowed us to watch the best matches on primitive b/w TVs.

You try booking a tennis court during Wimbledon or a few weeks after - shows it actually gets people off their bums.

As someone who used to love watching live England Test Cricket on the BBC and remembers the legendary Botham game, it will be a sad day when Wimbledon disappears to pay for view too.

Welcome to the club. Even more unbearable on LBC. I don't listen, just hear occasional adverts.

Yep. The week before and for a couple of weeks after, all public tennis courts are rammed around here. I ended up joining a local club just so I could guarantee a game when I fancied it.

Can't say I'm huge fan and it's not as though stuff like Glasto comes along and knocks everything else out of the schedules on BBC1 and 2 for a weekend every year. If you do want to watch it''s on the iplayer.

Will agree it's more interesting than cycling.

Don't mind Wimbledon, put do we have to suffer the boring monotone drawl of John McEnroe? I thought Virginia Wade was depressing, but McEnroe beats all.
