I've been trying to remember the name of a TV series from a few years ago and I hope someone can help.

I think it was about 9 years ago and I'm sure it was on BBC1.

A man gets hit by a train (suicide?) his wife subsequently discovered a flat that neither she not his friends knew about.

I have no idea why, but the first thing that entered my head was, "Luther."
God knows why?

It definitely wasn't Luther, this was one series only that was quite short (4 episodes?)

Sound a bit like the plot from a book I read, call The best a man can get by John O Farrell.

Luther sounded right to me too.

However, I remember the programme too - it was an Asian old guy and his wife knew nothing of the flat. He used to go there every week for years and she knew nothing of it. I think they weren't even sure what he did there. I can remember the flat, but don't know the programme! Sorry! It may have been silent witness. I seem to remember the flat blew out from an explosion, but I may be mixing my programmes together.

The programme was definitely British.

One of my favourite books, and one of the few where I actually laugh out loud at some of it.

Can't picture the TV series unfortunately, but it's quite a common plot device to find someone has a secret life that only comes out after their death.
