If Evans did quit and they employed another of their cronies to take his place do you think the ratings for the breakfast show would drop? Of course not, they could employ someone on £200k which would be a huge saving on Evans salary, radio 1 is for kids, the commercial stations on a conventional car radio are crap, there's no alternative for most people, so why pay Evans all that money and squeal that money at the BBC is in short supply? I criticised the BBC on facebook on one of their pages and had their attack dogs on my case, when I did a bit of detective work they all lovely contracts with the BBC,they get annoyed anyone criticising their gravy train.

Some of the previous posters on here defending these huge salaries need to get real, "...its market forces etc etc etc.... "

Surely a half articulate ex footballer could be found at A LOT LESS than Gary Lineker earns to lead Match of the Day - he's hardly insightful and you could have Ruby Wax present it and I doubt viewing figures would drop much as its the actual football most people watch it for anyway

Let them go to another channel (with investors/shareholders who may actually challenge the bottomless pit of these high earnings), and we can then scrap / cap the license fee (which you have to pay to use a TV)

I think she's brilliant. The left think she's a tory, the right think she's a commie, and I want the main BBC political correspondent to be mistrusted by both sides. Shows she's doing a good job.

If the Beeb don't up the ante with her, she'll be on Sky or ITV soon for 4 times the money.

If the BBC sacked him, why would he do another breakfast show. I suspect he's do something else on telly, for probably more than £2m. Do you think he would be queuing up at the job centre? He's lost jobs before, and quit them. He seems to still have been in demand.
