I've just bought the boxset 1-6 as I've never seen it. Is it worth it? I liked Jim Mickle's Stakeland movie etc
Season 2 was dire because they increased the episode count from 6 to 13 but didn't increase the budget proportionally. Do yourself a favour and just watch the first and last episodes. You honestly won't miss anything, because nothing happened.

Not a bad start, lets hope the rest of the season keeps up the pace.

Trevor Philips seems to be doing his normal routine of being on screen for a few minutes then being nowhere to be seen again.

Expert sniping of the two lookouts on the roof, why couldn’t that shooter pop off Negan and his crew on the balcony? Job done.

The flash forward/back/forward/further forward was all a bit much.

Well. That would be sensible.

I didn't get it. Confused at the end. Don't they know I'm a bit simple, and I need a straight forward story line....?

It's TWD. Where no one dies in firefights

Yup, the wife and I were asking why they didn't just snipe Negan.
Other than that, and the forward/backwards/forwards stuff a reasonable episode.

Well yes there is that.

Even useles Gabriel, who should really have been instantly ripped apart by the thousands of walkers manages to casually walk past them to get into that room with Negan, because story.

It was a fun start, I would have preferred to have 4 episodes of them setting it all up, planning and then turn up and put a bullet in Negans head but meh, whatever.

hehe

We are at S8. We should all be on auto-pilot when it comes to suspension of disbelief. It's a show, not real life. I find it remarkable that people moan about this still.

Enjoyed the episode. Liked the Lost-style S3 ending flash-forward. Perhaps this is the producers starting to put in place a closing arc, having seen viewing figures start to decline last season, though they were still pretty strong numbers.

Plot holes you could fly a 747 through, as has been mentioned, snipe the bas.... seeing as they are good at it with the red-shirts. banghead

Gabriel holding an uzi type gun infront of Neegan, doesn't shoot. banghead

I'm like the guy who keeps moaning about top gear, but I watch it anyway.

Looking forward to the 4 filler episodes to come.

JUST GET BLOODY WELL ON WITH IT!

We are going to record all episodes before watching, as we did in the last season, where it was so boring, we ended up watching only a couple of hours out of all the episodes.

Negan waiting in a darkened room just in case someone walks in and he can threaten them in a crap way.

Any other show and Gabriel woud have been smashed/shot in the head as he walked in lest he be a zombie, of course on any other show, the most useless character would never have made it through the horde in the first place..

Wasn't a bad ep, but really when it comes to later TWD there's usually only 3 really great eps, the First, the mid-series final and the final - I reckon we've got 6 episodes of filler, flash forward and 'Lost' like cliffhangers and 'Easter eggs' to watch before it kicks off again,

I'm guessing the 10,000 round magazine is finally out of bullets or he would have cleared his own exit path through the extras.

Also, that building is a few stories up, they obviously think there are shooters behind the windows. That bullet proof sheeting wasn't tall enough to protect them from people shooting downwards.

I didn't understand the flash backs/forwards, am I being dense?

They will be explained in 6-8 weeks time when you have forgotten about them. Don't worry.
