Foolishly, in a moment of boredom, I was present today, when my daughter watched the recorded episode. I happened to watch as Rick followed the truck, and the guy opened up with a tripod mounted Gatling gun......yet not a single round hit Rick, or his jeep, or his windscreen.....
.....Oh for the love of god.....
I think it was an M2 Browning, but yeah, it fires bullets this sized.....Oh for the love of god.....
But only manages a few little sparks on the grill before one managing a pin sized hole in the radiator.
Even suspending disbelief for a moment, because it's only TV, the whole car chase thing was appalling.
Still, some of the reviews of tonight's episode seem slightly better than last weeks, to hell with spoilers, I'm only watching because my Wife is still into it.

They must have had the most accurate 50 cal gunners ever bearing in mind the group was scattering and they were firing from an elevated position.
Strange as no one can usually hit anything
They obviously wore the sights out taking out that group, so that's why they struggled in the car chase Strange as no one can usually hit anything
If I wanted to be generous, I'd credit the makers with how they depicted the aftermath of that massacre. Most of the time when "heavy" machine guns are depicted on tv, the victims either fall to the floor dead but intact, or they survive and brush it off as a flesh wound. Although (thankfully) I have no basis to back it up, I imagine the portrayal last week was a little more realistic.
That annoyed me.
Everyone (except the king) was dead. Not injured, ripped to pieces but actually everyone hit was dead (but no head shots).
Saving Private Ryan had people rolling around, no legs, arms missing etc. but not dead.
I guess it was so they could all turn into zombies 10s after the king escaped.

I don't get what Rick's plan is. They have the sanctuary surrounded, they have taken out the outposts. Now what? He shot down Daryl's suggestion of blowing the bloody doors off and letting the walkers in to finish the job. Followed by a completely out of character unnecessary scriptwriters fight and the deliberate loss of what looks like valuable explosives and whatever was still on the truck (a 0.5 calibre gun on the box wasn't it?)
The only possible threat left that we haven't seen are the trash hobbits. And they haven't appeared to have started anything against them yet, unless that is where Ezekiel was meant to go after his first target was destroyed.
The big threat is still sanctuary and no one is there to keep an eye on them, unless Gabriel who has suddenly got very ill (?!?) is going to start a fatal epidemic inside like the old Prison story-line. TWD regurgitated story-lines matter.

True, the writers really seem to be winging it this season. It's not cohesive and seems totally directionless. AshVX220 said:
The most interesting bit about the last episode was the helicopter, where was it from, where was it going, who's in it, etc, etc?
probably won't have a single answer to that for another 2 seasons (or at the earliest the very end of this season).
AGREE, finally will we see the span of this disease, a larger picture.......probably won't have a single answer to that for another 2 seasons (or at the earliest the very end of this season).

Hope I'm wrong. Anyone read the comics care to mention anything about it (behind spoiler of course).

When was the helicopter?! At the end?
Have we had a helicopter in the series before? I seem to remember one vaguely. I think it was about the time of the governor.
2 helicopters previously, one in series 1 episode 1 (or 2) when Rick enters Atlanta he sees one flying over the city. Also one crashed in series 3 that Michonne witnessed the pilots being killed by the Governor's men.Have we had a helicopter in the series before? I seem to remember one vaguely. I think the writers have taken a bit of inspiration from 24. Except rather than driving across Los Angeles multiple times in 1 day, it seems Rick's group have managed to cross half the state (and in less than 24 hours as it's yet to get dark this season). And much of it has been walking.

There was a helicopter in the background of a shot sometime in S7 which none of the characters mentioned.
I think that was more of a continuity error than a plot point, but AMC 'went with it'.I'd certainly like to see more of TWD 'world', how widespread is the outbreak, localised to a few hundred square miles, regional, national etc and maybe some sort of conclusion rather than another round of - sanctuary / big baddie / destruction of sanctuary / roaming about until they find the next safe community to wreck.

After all these seasons I still don’t understand why they wouldn’t just head to the east coast, find a boat and locate a suitable Caribbean island. Clear it, farm and settle.
But that wouldn’t make a good show.
Because they are all stupid enough to continually let Rick be in charge, and he's a fkwit. But that wouldn’t make a good show.

With Fear The Walking Dead, we're lead to assume that it's nation wide at least, maybe with small pockets of un-affected areas, which is where the helicopter came from. I just really hope it's a major plot point and not like the Lost Polar bear, which was just ludicrous. As the show does seem to repeat itself and is kind of losing it's way a bit, I personally hope that the helicopter is a major game changer that could lead to the end of the show in some properly conclusive way rather than just carrying on and letting it wither and die as viewing figures drop. Obviously the comics are still continuing to generate income, but the TV show is a different beast with different drivers for it's success.I'd certainly like to see more of TWD 'world', how widespread is the outbreak, localised to a few hundred square miles, regional, national etc and maybe some sort of conclusion rather than another round of - sanctuary / big baddie / destruction of sanctuary / roaming about until they find the next safe community to wreck.
