The Walking Dead Season 8

He's clearly going to do something before he dies. Suicide mission?
Not a clue to be honest but that seems very plausible. The whole Carl subplot with him helping that lone guy and getting bitten doesn't happen in the comics so I am interested in how things go moving forward as Carl is a part of a few major plot points in the comics that now will have to happen another way.
The thing which really, REALLY grates about that episode was that (yet again) Rick had a perfect chance to kill Negan. Ok, so he got pushed out of a window but he was carrying a really big gun. The really big gun had bullets in it. Negan was on his own, in a house with a baseball bat. Why didn't Rick just go back into the house through the front door and shoot him in the head, repeatedly? Rick also had plenty of time to rattle off a few shots the second he picked up the gun.
And how the frig did The Saviours mobilise so quickly? What did Eugene do to remove the walkers? How and when did Coral get bitten? When did The Saviours get their hands on M79 grenade launchers? Why didn't they use them when The Sanctuary was surrounded by Rick and the Spastic Gang?
Totally mental.

The actor's dad isn't happy after saying his son was told he would be in it for another 3 years till the end. Yes folks another 3 series are planned, another 3 years of rinse and repeat. - https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/walkin...
""My first reaction was silence," Lincoln told THR about his first reaction to learning of Carl's death. "Scott Gimple called me up and said, 'You're going to hate this one.' He's very good about alerting the cast when there's going to be a [character] death. I tried guessing four times and was nowhere near Chandler Riggs' name. Scott had to say that it was Carl. I just didn't speak for a minute. I always thought Carl was going to be the one who led the show forward; that Rick would hand over his boots and revolver when he walked off into the sunset in season 28."
I hope that's sarcasm.

I don't think he's going to die... leaked script:
Ricks group hit the road, drive for a couple of days and then come across a new group who live in a hidden underground bunker. Although suspicious at first the new group let them in and explain to Rick that they have been living in harmony since the outbreak and have kept hidden and avoided any conflict. They have an abundant source of fresh food and water, and are working on an antidote to cure the disease. Rick pleads with them to let Coral take the antidote but they tell him it's not ready and there's only enough for one dose. Obviously Rick ignores this and gives Coral the dose, who then quickly recovers. The new group are outraged that their research has been set back years, but then after a rousing speech where Rick explains about the Saviours and how they'll come and take away everything, the new group quickly accept Rick as their new leader.
He then convinces them to gather all their guns and drive hundreds of miles to attack the Saviours, because "this is who we are, and this is what we do". After a 3 season long gun battle where only 5 people die Rick's group think they have the upper hand, only to be held up at a roadblock on the same bit of highway and forced to hand over all their guns...

I planned to watch this episode, but I watched 5 minutes before losing the will to do so and then read the spoilers and decided I had better things to do with an hour - like sleep!
TWD is a pale shadow of that first stunning series, but it's really lost its way in the last two seasons, after that gruesome opening.
People fighting other people - It's been done to death, TWD isn't offering anything different to dozens of other TV series over the years, as others have said the Walkers are just set dressing these days.
We know people are nasty, evil things, just going around and around and around reiterating that is, truth be told, dull, dull, dull...
I used to love TWD, so sad to see it reduced to this...

Scott Gimple should be sacked. Not Chandler Riggs. Is AMC actually paying attention to he ratings? Fans are voting with their remote controls.
Get back to the character development, the Herschel and Dale's that brought a moral compass to the show. Right now it just laughable, characters that we don't care about, a storyline that is boring and also muddled... it is just become a gun slingin' contest with no one that can actually shoot.

I think a lot of the things that everyone (including me) is criticising would be less of an issue, and possibly go unnoticed, if they just made it happen A BIT FASTER.
I am so sick of the fact that each episode only has ten minutes of content. If the other 40 minutes were filled with character development or story progression, then fair enough, but it's actually filled with nothing at all.
As it is, they pad it out with endless gun battles, countless wistful stares, pointless arguments, and plot leaps that make no sense.

Just a past thought on stupid Rick's plan of surrounding Negan with walkers. Alexandria got surrounded by walkers when stupid Rick's stupid plan of luring a huge horde that was holed up in a quarry away from Alexandria failed and a huge number made their way to Alexandria after a truck horn was blown by the Wolves. They got out. Why did he think the same plan would work this time?

Because he is stupid.Maybe he's found some nuclear waste and will eat that, then he'll turn into Mega Zombie (you won't like him when he's slightly irritated) and go on a rampage urinating on everything in site with special melty pee.
At this point I think anything is possible and I'd enjoy it if they just went fully mental B movie on it and made it funny.

When did The Saviours get their hands on M79 grenade launchers? Why didn't they use them when The Sanctuary was surrounded by Rick and the Spastic Gang?
Totally mental.

I thought the saviours were supposed to be on their knees but within a matter of hours they were armed to the teeth and disarming everybody at will?!
And where the hell did everyone else go when Rick and Negan were fighting?
The writing has just got terrible.

Is TWD getting bad reviews elsewhere? I’m on a gaming forum and there are still people jerking themselves off over how great the new series is
Forbes: https://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2017/12/10/t..."I watched tonight's Walking Dead with a mixture of dismay, disdain and disbelief. The show has fallen on such hard times it's still kind of hard to believe. By the end of the episode's "shocking" reveal, I could only shake my head in disgust. What a joke this show has become. A bad joke."
