Seems, well, reading between the lines anyway they're limiting a lot of main characters to 6 episodes and there's talk of it being like series 1 (which of course was only 6 episodes).

Maybe they're going to put it out of it's misery?

Yes, Series 8 (and a lot of 6 and 7) were crap, but with some better writers and a better budget it could be great again, but equally, if they can it now I wouldn't be upset.

Actually, knowing the little I know about AMC, I'd think it's more likely that as the cast want proper wages finally, they'll kill the lot off and start afresh with new, unknown actors for $50k an episode or something.
They had better explain the fking helicopters before they do. I still haven't gotten over Lost it's it's fking smoke monster and polar bear!

It's terrible.
Struggle through the first series then made it one into the 2nd before giving up.
So, bad.
It does eventually pick up though it was pretty dire most of the way into the second series. If not for the Walking Dead affiliation, I doubt it would have lasted. I suspect AMC might view it as a way to milk the franchise after the main show goes. The problem is that they don't seem willing to put as much money into the budget as with the main show.

They could have just offered free coach transfer to the Merry Hill centre in Dudley and managed a better experience of the apocalypse.

When the main characters stopped moving and settled roots it went staid.

Rick has made so many bad decisions I've hoped his character was killed off and there are one or two other main characters that need culling now.
I agree new and minor lower characters need developing in their place.

The captured bad guy who was held in the pen who mediated alot (Callan McAuliffe). He should as should Siddiq.

Daryl should go. He doesn't speak

Is there anyone who watched this season who's not bothering with next season?

I hadn't bothered with 8 and I know I made the right call to give up. When you're hoping one of the main characters you're supposed to like gets his head splattered with a baseball bat, only to be infuriatingly saved by a tiger, it's a sign it's not quite doing it any more...

Still haven't watched much of season 8, have watched a bit of the latest FTWD which seems better but even then can barely be bothered.

You can argue that the budget, production and writing have been rubbish lately but it's also not helped by continuing to follow the ideas from comic which is pretty crappy too. They needed to head in a totally different direction, and maybe FTWD is now it.

These days the main series is just like the walkers - dead but hasn't noticed yet.

I begrudgingly watched all of 8 because my Wife still loves it, but I have some hope for S9, I don’t remember the specifics but whoever was responsible for S8 is gone and they’re making big changes both on and off screen - it’s kill or cure time imho, they’ve been losing viewers at a high rate for a couple of series now and so far they’ve handled it by cutting the budget (not that it’s a very expensive show to make relative to its audience figures) but if they can’t reverse the tread I doubt they’ll get a series 10.

5) Rick wakes up in a room, he's wearing a VR headset and when he takes it off he sees he's not the only one there, on the wall it says "Walking Dead Total Immersion Video Game". In walks Timothy Spall.
Rick wakes up and goes to take a shower and joins the COmedian.

He wakes up in the shower in 1981 in Dallas and is Bobby Ewing.

(Ripping off the modified end of a film of a Stephen King)

(Scene change, start from tight zoom of character's face and slowly move out to reveal crowd)

We see that Rick is just another member of a shuffling crowd of zombies, dressed in a hospital gown. Everything that has happened was just an illusion in his head.

I think we watched a couple of episodes but then gave up. It increasingly became background noise and we were looking at iPads or cleaning up rather than watching it.

I think it was the episode where Negan and the priest chap from Starship Troopers got trapped in a truck/lorry.

Didn't watch the second half of season 8 but watching the trailer it doesn't look like I missed anything!

Trailer looks good though.
