Only ever walked out of three movies. Congo, Eyes Wide Shut and Birdman. Still no idea how any of them end.
Congo was schlocky but great entertainment. It had Tim Curry and a talking chimp IIRC.

I might, just might allow LotR, and only because I understand that not everyone is fan-boy like myself, but 12 Monkeys, Inception, and The Big Lebowski, WTF man? Seriously WTF?

In jest, because I appreciate that we have have differing tastes. However, whilst I rarely go to the cinema as I prefer the comfort of my own home, during my teenage years (except for My Big Fat Greek Wedding) I was dragged to see the following:
  • Curly Sue
  • My Big Fat Greek Wedding
  • Moonwalker
  • Sleeping with the Enemy
All were terrible, although Moonwalker was entertaining due to viewing in Margate in the 80s, because most of the cinema goers were doing everything else bar watching inc. an harassed female usher asking various people if they were "Danny Wellard", to which the standard reply was, "I'm well hard love, but my name's not Danny". The absolute, absolute worst was Curly Sue. The Italian girl whom we were with asked who on earth chose the film, and why we were still watching (a very good point, and one to which I cannot answer 27 odd years later), whilst another guy was asleep - head back, snoring.

I was dragged a couple of years ago by my partner to see Mrs Brown's Boys Da Movie, which I knew was going to be utter ste. At least it didn't disappoint in that regard. As bad as it was, it was still better than Curly Sue! To make it worse, it was directed by John Hughes. John Hughes, who directed Weird Science, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink (my favourite Molly Ringwald movie cloud9 ) and The Breakfast Club - all that hold up today - directed Curly Sue.

Let me leave you with that thought. Oh and he directed Maid In Manhatten in 2002. Enough said.

The only film I've paid for at the cinema and walked out on (so technically not the worst film I've ever seen!) was In & Out with Kevin Kline. The first 30 minutes were so mind numbingly dull that as soon as the Coke and Malteasers ran out, I was off.

I got duped into going to see whatever the 2nd twilight film is.

Hadn't seen the first, but I was assured by the OH that is was "brilliant, you'll love it, it's about vampires and warewolves!"

What followed was some minutes of a mind numbing teenage girls fantasy world. I say some minutes because I fell asleep in the cinema, NOTHING HAPPENS.

I don't believe her movie reviews anymore.

'open water'.

It had good reviews at the time, but I walked out of there thinking it was an April fools prank.
The movie was horridly bad.

Oh yes, looks like it was made on a budget of about £300, which would cover boat hire for an afternoon and some sandwiches...

Actually, they were swindled on the sandwiches, in that case...

I didn't see it at the cinema, though, so I can't count it biggrin

Have you seen a film called "Curly Sue"? Just wondered as to your opinion on it.

Seconded. Thought provoking for the sake of it.

Not one pelting scene, either. I agree with you, Joe.

The 2006 flop Paradise Lost, it's amazing what you'll do when a fit girl is willing to sit on your face/penis but tolerate it I did. After seeing the trailer I didn't think it'd be too bad but my god it was awful! She enjoyed it though so the rewards were worth it....

As a huge fan of the original film Blade Runner I nominate the latest one the worst film ever. The end.

Has to be the remake of "Gone in 60 Seconds"

I cringe every time I hear or see the term 'Eleanor' applied to new Mustangs. Eleanor was just the name the builders gave to the severely ironed up mustard coloured Mach 1 they used to survive the ending 25minute chase in the original film which, btw was excellent and if you haven't seen it, do so..

Napoleon Dynamite.

The theatre was maybe quarter full at the start.

We lasted until about halfway through the film, and were the last to walk out.

I said to the guy outside "You may as well switch this off, mate, no-one's left in there"

Rotten Tomatoes rate it 14%; however IMDb rate it 5.7/10. 5.7. WTF, people? WTF!?

My opinion may have differed if I had seen Battlefield Earth, Highlander 2, or viewed the Phantom Menace in the cinema.

The story behind the making of the original is more interesting than the actual film.

What? Napoleon Dynamite was ace. However YMMV.

The two worst films of the top of my head I had the misfortune to see at the cinema were The Paper. I liked Michael Keaton at the time. We left after 20 minutes. The second was The Human Centipede. The wife had been dared by a friend she no longer speaks to to see it. She never slept for a week after seeing it.
