Well it might have been an inevitable dance off but Susan and Kevin had some really nice final words to say before bowing out I thought.
Absoloutly. There was definitely something about that partnership we really enjoyed.

The right decision but what a fun competitor Susan was. Great comments from both her and Kev too.

Kevin's message to Karen was odd, they seemed to be having a bit of a moment afterwards.
Apparently their marriage isn't all it could be at the moment:

How do they keep the results secret, so many people involved but not a peep gets out.

You can find out the result if you look hard enough smile

Anton was asked the question on the Graham Norton show yesterday and he said they just rely on the people keeping it quiet. Most do as they are a fan of the show.

The result is available on Twitter shortly after the dance off on Saturday night. If you're unlucky some tt will post it in this thread, although that hasn't happened this year which is nice.

ETA: there must be an unwritten rule the media follows to prevent premature disclosure

as I said prev. latin in later stages doesn't go down as well with the viewers as ballroom....

it would have been fascinating to see how alex and debbie might have fared against each other in a DO.

Davood is my fave - hope he wins it outright now.

Debbie would have gone through! Both equally good dancers with one being over-marked by the judges on Saturday, and one being under-marked. Debbie fitting the 'woman of a certain age wins strictly' headline plan.'

I can't help thinking there will still be a bit of a late backlash against Debbie once people realise just how much dancing she's been doing for many years prior to Strictly. I'd rather have a celebrity who hasn't danced before - like Davood or Joe

I made a similar remark a few weeks ago but I simply got a "rolleyes" in reply. Like others on here though, I still maintain that Debbie McGee has been over marked throughout the series. Craig kneeling on the floor in front of her a few weeks ago made me cringe. She's good but not that good!

It's always been the discussion on Strictly, should the winner be the best dancer, the one who has improved the most, or even the best pairing?

Most 'performers' will have has some dance training in the past either for pop videos (like Molly and Alex) or in a more formal 'dance' role like Debbie. It may be seen as an advantage to their dancing but a disadvantage towards their chances of winning when it comes to the public vote.

Personally, they should be judged on nothing but their dance on the night, the best dancer regardless of experience or age wins, let the producers who select the contestants decide if they have an unfair advantage before they're even measured for their sequins. I they're on the show, they're there to be judged equally as a dancer.

This is how the show has morphed over the years. If you think back to when it started, for the the first two or three seasons they were mostly rubbish. The lad from Eastenders who was one of the finalists in series one would be laughed off the show now!

Now they mostly seem to be pretty good from day one, bar the one or two "jokers" that are chosen for that role. Ed Balls being an example that surprised people! And I think Susan was chosen as the "joker" this year and initially surpassed expectations.

I can categorically say that I don't find Ed Balls likeable in the slightest.

I think Susan was too good to be a Comedy Duffer. Her performances weren't amusingly bad as was the case with people like Ed Balls, Russell Grant or Scott Mills.

Odd isn't it, I disagreed with his politics and fully expected to dislike him on Strictly yet I found quite affable. Of course I don't know him personally so shouldn't comment but he comes across as a decent chap. Which makes me question why he's married to Yvette Cooper. laugh

I thought the same about Jeremy Vine. Came across as a genuinely nice guy when on Strictly. How can he manage to come across as such a knob on his radio show? Which is the real Jeremy Vine?
