Have all the presenters been sacked?

Every time I switch on, there's only ever Tony Blackburn or Sara Cox re-hashing stuff from decades back. Even very late last night, during a particularly sleepless period, I fired the radio up, and she's there again.

And now, Blackburn's once more. Just as he was yesterday evening.

Could be worse, I suppose. At least It's not Steve Wright.

Cox has been standing in for Evans and, rather like Jeremy Vine, as soon as I hear the voice, I turn to another station.
Apart from Ken Bruce and Johnny Walker, it ' pretty much a car crash.

How the hell is Steve Wright not driving a taxi by now? He is just terrible. Constantly congratulating himself (via reading out listeners texts) on a 'great show'. If he says 'serious jocking' anymore regularly he won't have time to play any music. The way he brown noses his guests is embarrasing and he's not in the least funny. Ever.
Rant over. I feel better now.

Sara Cox presents "Sounds of the 80s" every Friday from 10pm to midnight. Tony Blackburn has his "Golden Hour" from 7pm to 8pm on a Friday and "Sounds of the 60s" from 6am to 8am on a Saturday. Avoid these times and you should be OK.

Although, TBH, I enjoy both of them smile

Money saving. Get rid of the overnight shows and play repeats. A real shame as Janice Long's show was really good.

I've stopped listening to radio 2. BBC 6 music is a lot better.

She was on again at 02.00 this morning. And constantly plugging something with her new best mate Belinda Carlisle, which will probably be repeated daily for the next 5 years.

I used to listen to 6Music, but the presenters are a bit earnest, and that Mary Anne Hobbs with her breathy, half-asleep delivery grates as well.

Thank God for the iPod...

Agreed, I can't stand bloody Sarah Cox, neither can I stand Jeremy bloody Vine or Steve Wright so that's pretty much Radio 2 done for me. I like Ken Bruce and Simon Mayo is ok...

Best presenter on R2 is Lisa Tarbuck, shes crazy, makes me laugh out loud and the programme has a fantastic choice of music.

The only presenter I go out of my way to listen to is Huey Morgan. No incessant chat, just solid music of his choice; as it should be. Now tucked away at 04.00 or something.

There are just two shows I enjoy and can recommend.

Johnnie Walker, Sounds of the Seventies, Sunday afternoon.

Paul Jones, Let It Rock, blues rock classics early Monday evening.

You're the only other person apart from me i've ever heard have an appreciation for her! She's clearly bonkers in a good way, but sadly due to the time she's on I don't get to hear the whole show. I wish she was on during the day, she was quite good when teamed up with Mark Radcliffe back in the day.

227 you are the third person now, one of my friends also listens to her when driving home, we often have a laugh over the things she says and speculate that she must be a riot at parties.

I listen to her whilst driving to gigs and sometimes sit in the car after arriving to hear the end of the show.

She was good with Mark Radcliffe too.

I like Liza Tarbuck too, like has been said a bit bonkers but it goes together so well.

Unfortunately for me, my day starts at 05:15 as I make my way to work. Vanessa Feltz, she just talks too much drivel, drivel and more drivel.

Simon Mayo's show is good to round the day off though especially on a Friday.
