Surprised no topic yet, the trailers are appearing on C4 now, although the release date is still unknown it seems.

Best known as a writer of some of the greatest sci-fi books that have been adapted for the big screen; Do Andriods Dream of Electric Sheep (Bladerunner), Minority Report, We Can Remember It For You Wholesale (Total Recall) and The Man in the High Castle.

"Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams is a sci-fi anthology series of ten epic, ambitious and moving standalone episodes, each set in a different and unique world – some which lie in the far reaches of the universe and time and others which are much, much closer to home. While the stories may be worlds apart, central to each is the poignant and warm exploration of the importance and significance of humanity.

Each episode is inspired by one of Philip K. Dick’s renowned shorts stories and has been adapted by an exciting list of leading British and American writers and directors. The series also features an all-star roster of cast who head up this thrilling, audacious and emotional journey into the far reaches of imagination."

Any idea when these start - recall seeing one of the ads & thinking that looks decent.

Only date I found was 4th of September, but it's not on the guide, most sites still say TBD.

Thanks for the head up OP - looking forward to this.

Your list made no mention of "Screamers" (from the story "Second Variety"), arguably the most faithful to the original story, though that's not saying much - I recommend if you haven't already seen it. TBH I'm still carrying mental scars from the end of Minority Report - implicitly about Mccarthyism, the "and they all lived happily ever after" ending is the total opposite of the story.

Yes, I am something of a Dick aficionado wink

Talk about dystopian future, one where the cars are mostly 1970s Fords...
yikes

Good start. Didn't realise Bryan Cranston is executive producer for the series as well. Looking forward to the next one.

Enjoyed that, good start, ticked plenty of dystopia boxes plus bonus S1 Jag (or maybe a Daimler) and Granada's.

Downside is that the picture quality on C4 is terrible.

Wow i enjoyed that! A genuinely gripping hour of fresh telly! Holliday Grainger carried the piece, leaving the leading man looking a bit one dimensional though. Some very clever visual metephors too.

(and some bonus Granadas, as you might expect from the Ex Life on Mars Writer ;-)

Fine on 4HD, with the room lights turned down due to the ever present dystopian gloaming

IMHO boring. Shot on a budget of £10 per episode?

Boring because it was well acted and thought provoking and didn't have multi million pound budget special effects you could mind numbingly sit back and gasp at?

Interesting.

Also one who enjoyed this.

The "feel" was spot on, for my taste.

Well acted, slightly slow-paced maybe, but thought-provoking. Can't wait for the rest...
