Season 2 now on Netflix
I'm just finishing up Season 1. I thought I'd revisit it before getting strapped in for S2. Netflix really nailed it with the writing, the well developed characters all mixed with drama and brutal violence.
Looking forward to what come next... I've even avoided the new trailer, I just want to see it fresh.
I'm wondering if this will go the way of the other Marvel stuff by Netflix and be cancelled... With Disney now owning Marvel and launching their own streaming service to rival Netflix and Amazon Prime.

I started a thread on the Mandalorian and Disney's streaming service.
It was stated by Disney that their streaming service would be "family friendly" so no Punisher etc.
Yep, this is the problem. Buying 20th Century Fox has brought Marvel into Disney's fold. All the Marvel TV stuff was made by Netflix on behalf of Marvel. It was stated by Disney that their streaming service would be "family friendly" so no Punisher etc.
Disney don't want to compete with a Netflix airing productions with characters Disney now owns. It's a shame, Luke Cage and Daredevil, season 4 of that show had been written, have already been cancelled. This is why we've seen Netflix ramping up their own production series and movies, replacing product that will be pulled from their platform by the major studios. It's going to be a fierce battleground.

I can see DisneyPLus having a Hulu adult section maybe, where the likes of Fox/Punisher could exist.

Netflix don't own the rights to the current shows......
Netflix pays money to produce the Marvel shows, but they don't own the IP. Those shows have clear and consistent branding to Marvel Studios. So when the Disney+ service starts airing other Marvel shows tied to the popular films, any Marvel series on Netflix will service as de facto advertising for the other Marvel shows on Disney+. In that way, then, the Marvel-Netflix shows were about to become marketing for a streaming service that directly competes with Netflix.
Likewise, Disney is going to pull all of their content from Netflix, so Netflix will generally lack a relationship with Marvel's parent company and will be losing a lot of popular content that transitions over to the competing Disney+ service. So if Netflix kept making the Marvel shows, then they would be producing content owned by someone else that would serve to drive consumers to a competing service full of content explicitly taken away from Netflix.

I didn't phrase it quite correctly. Netlfix own the broadcasting rights to what they have produced thus far, so all the stuff to date will not air on Disney. If Marvel fans want their dose of Punisher et al, they'll have to buy Netflix. It's a great/stty move by Netlficx, depending if you're a fan or not. Disney can't move forward with any character without highlighting the start of them on a competitor.Netflix pays money to produce the Marvel shows, but they don't own the IP.
