Excellent program, gave enough history to make you see how much of a game changer it was.
Plus the less than superb reliability it had.
I was thinking it was a violent way of steering it just before it went bang..
Shame the drive in France was so short.
Would be been good to see it rumbling across a field and using the computer aided info to give distances and where the trenches were and a rough time to cross from 1 to the other.

And for those who don’t know thanks to the incredibly detailed, thought out and useful OP, it’s a programme following him helping to build a WW1 tank from scratch! Should be a good watch, hopefully they might even go into a bit more tech detail than normal.
And we have to guess the channel? What use are you??Anyway, I missed it. Virgin On Demand here I come.
Was in Lincoln for 3 days on holiday for just a a days before remberance Sunday, such a shame I missed this in real life!
Brilliant program, loved it
Edit - just got to the bit with the bad news, guess I didn't miss anything in Lincoln after all!

I've encountered a tank with L plates on coming the other way on a small country road before. I reversed back to a passing spot very quickly!
Ah, that was you - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrMc4kYMZ5w#t=02m0...EarlOfHazard said:
Really enjoyed this. Was impressed with the British engineering that could be summoned to make it possible. Liked the fact it had a Rolls Royce engine with military origins.
One of the most interesting programs I’ve seen on telly for a long time. And to imagine they built them 100 years ago without plasma cutters, CNC, mig welders etc etc.Not too impressed with the poxy little pillow bearings they used for the main gear drive wheels. Pitifully small compared to the size of those chain drives. Predictably, one blew apart soon after the massive turning forces were thrown into it.
As usual from Guy and C4 a very good and informative program.
Nice to see a council being supportive of something different .
Can't say I surprised by Lincolnshire police, they are so corrupt and inept I'm surprised Guy didn't just say fk you and drive the tank down the high street anyway!
