Amir Khan is a practising Muslim, so I don't think he can do the eating challenges.

Mainstream TV production these days seems to be based on:

- find a format, gain some audience
- script subsequent series
- milk it
- completely screw it up

Haven't watched this yet but doubt it's much different.

Whilst they don't get paid millions, I don't follow the logic of this for everyone.

if people who get paid loads of money once don't need the money, why do anything? Robert Downey Jr got paid several million just to make Iron Man 1, why both continuing after that?

There are other reasons than money to go onto these shows.

(Ok yes, it is mostly money for a lot of them)

Supposedly -

He's worth ~£20m.
He's getting divorced.
It pays £250k for a few easy weeks in Aus.

If he could earn £250k every month he'd be looking at £3m a year which I'd say is well worth it to him.

I was in Emirates First with Ant and Dec on the leg from Dubai to Brisbane last Saturday. They were both jolly pleasant people

I was a bit surprised when Dec made a reference to Ant's attendance at an addiction clinic during the summer, basically taking the p*ss out of him. I found it funny, but I wonder if Ant did?

I'd have thought after all these years they know each other well enough to judge that sort of stuff.

everyone is talking about if they didn't say anything it would blow up. Talking about it diffuses the situation so they move on. i think he must have a good relationship with the papers as you never here bad stuff and he still has a job, when other celebs have not been so lucky.

I'm sure it was scripted and cleared long in advance.

It would have been more notable by its absence, if nothing had been said.

Of course it was, and anyhow those two have a long tradition of sending themselves up, it's actually the best way to handle it in my view. Bit of a laugh and a joke as the series opens and the whole thing is put to bed.

Ant seems to have had genuine issues which by all accounts he's managed to sort out, they seem like genuinely decent people and I'm glad it's all worked out for them.

Why is his motives for being on the show magnified against the others?...

He's by FAR the best known 'celebrity' on the show.
It's not like the others on the show are there because they enjoy doing the tasks they'll be asked to do. They're fame/money hungry more than Khan.

Do you think someone saw 'blinded by paintball' somewhere and didn't quite understand the 'how' bit? Unless it was the special acid paint they got him with.

Don't know about that. For the demographic that watches, I would say Jenny McAlpine would be better known based on her being in Corrie.
