I read on my Kindle, wife fell asleep.

Then I watched an episode of Spiral, an example of how to maintain momentum without regular shoot outs.

Disappointed with McMafia. Probably called that because like McDonalds it lools great in the ads but is actually limp, lacking in meat and uninspiring..

...or because the good bits aren't worth ploughing through the boring bits for. :/

I think the series needed a decent script editor. We have plenty of exotic locations and a huge cast....

...but the storyline is verging on tedious.

And next the BBC will be bleating about not having a budget as big as Amazon and Netflix. They should be able to do better than this.

They COULDN'T RESIST putting a black man with a white woman in it could they? They are OBSESSED with showing this on tv. They show this on tv millions of times yet they show a black man with say a Chinese or Pakistani woman on tv NEVER. They show a black man with a white woman much, much, much more than they show a black man with a black woman, it would be shocking to see that on tv. This is OBVIOUSLY deliberate anti white propaganda. They are DRUMMING it into their heads to race mix with our white women and ONLY our white women.

(Why are you deleting my posts, the organized and deliberate attack against white people goes so deep that anyone who even mentions it is censored)
Don't you have a country to run, Donald?

Back on topic......why is Alex getting mixed up with all of these bad guys? Presumably Vadim realised that the attempt on his life didn't come from from the Godman family (otherwise they'd now all be dead) but from the idiot uncle Boris.
Why hasn't Alex just said "uncle got what he deserved, I'm going to live my life honestly, last thing I need is to start a war against Vadim"?
Now, if Alex was driven by revenge, I'd get it, but he doesn't appear to be. So, what is his motive?

On another note, the lovely girlfriend Rebecca is portrayed as intelligent and intuitive - but doesn't seem to have noticed Alex's drift into organised crime and money laundering. Just doesn't seem believable to me; I'd much prefer her to be a scheming Lady Macbeth type.

Agree with those who say it's a bit slow. I mean, how many meals does he have to have with that slimy Mexican drug lord?

There certainly appear to be far too many holes in the plot, however it’s quite good Sunday night fodder so for that reason I’ll stick with it. Had it been on at another time or clashed with something else it might have been ‘Nyeht’.

I'm wondering if her 'whiter than white' boss will be part of the story later on. No-one in the international finance business is above dodgy deals etc etc.

Maybe our hero will be brought down by his compliance officer - the unsung heroes of many trading houses! Or not...

The big boss in Russia (he of the shirt swapping tendency) is a 'good' baddy. Very watchable.

Someone needs to ask Yuri in the Prague warehouse where his painting is (Rock'nRolla reference).

I'm usually a very patient person, and do not mind if a series is a 'slow burner.' However, this is becoming a bit tedious now, even for me.

I'l likely stick with it, but wish it would up the pace a bit.

A lot of the unanswered questions about Alex's motivation and his GF's apparent inability to see what's going on could be down to Norton's equally apparent inability to express emotion. He seems to have just two facial expressions: 'stony' and 'smile/grimace'. Going off this series a bit now.
