Well that was poo. Really tired of these pointless “challenge” oirentated grand tours.
Especially the dramatic music that tries to add tension.

Great opening episode, and the chemistry between the three is building nicely. Not much to not like, the chain racing looked a proper hoot. Of the three cars I think I’d take the Jag, out accelerated the other two comfortably, a fraction of the price of the McLaren and the Mustang couldn’t use half its power.

Series looks like it’ll be a good ‘un.

I’m not going to slag it off, I’ll just say that I think I must be busier than I use to be and hence prioritise my time differently.

I didn’t make it to the end of the show.

Enjoyed that but why oh why didn't they do some roll on tests with such a nice choice of cars available, the GT350R in standard form is a weapon & that Voodoo V8 is one of the best sounds I've heard come from a car & from the standard exhaust system too.

Happy enough with that, I was entertained by people using cars. That's why I watch it and that's what I got.

Really good start can't fault it, yes same format, but really pisses on TGT how to make a good car show.

7/10, but that possibly feels a bit mean. No real cringes or FFS moments, and we actually got a programme about cars. A programme which didn't seem just to want to trash perfectly good vehicles. While it wasn't TG at its best, it was still recognisably TG. TGT is starting to feel a bit adrift in the wilderness now.

Chris Harris has done some excellent YouTube videos with TG, no reason for them to stop now. I'll give Rory a go on the BBC3 show later.

I.thought I’d give it a go after dropping out last season.
It was ok but I can’t honestly say it’s must watch tv yet.

Boring TV, which is disappointing especially when one considers what it will have cost.

As a new Mustang owner I really enjoyed tonights show, ok i know mine has 421HP rather than 800+ but believe me that is more than enough in the real world especially on snow on pirrelli p zeros a tyre designed to be hot and stickybiggrin

It was good to see them actually enjoying each other’s cars rather than the pointless slag each other off for no reason that TGT now does.

I really enjoyed it, can’t wait for next weeks.

Good enough start, makes Grand Tour look rather sad. Even the 'banter' <shudder> was better than CHM who seem to have totally run out of chemistry.

I enjoyed it and it actually made me laugh a few times which it has not managed to do in a while. Rory does not seem comfortable at speed, thought they may of worked on that during the season break but at least he tries.

My Mustang was £42K a fraction of the price of the mclaren and half the value of the jag, surely the best bang for buck of the three (i know mines a 5.0 GT and the Hennessy would be nearer the price of the jag)

I liked this, and so did my boys. Then along came a GT40 and that was the clincher. Wowsers.

Hmmmm. In summary suspect the reason that I was relatively happy with the last season of Top Gear was because the previous, Chris Evans, season was so utterly dire, and season 1 of the Grand Tour was so, error, mixed, being kind to it.

Tonight scraped a 6.5 out of 10. Will stick with it though.

Have the Jag, no question.

you realise that the Ken Block sequence will have pretty much wrecked all 3 of those vehicles. You could see the Mclaren had a broken screen for example. (Tearing around on loose gravel utterly wrecks a modern car)

Still i enjoyed it, and nice to have two of "my" engines in the piece (AJ133 S/C and M838T) ;-)
