Great opening episode, and the chemistry between the three is building nicely. Not much to not like, the chain racing looked a proper hoot. Of the three cars I think I’d take the Jag, out accelerated the other two comfortably, a fraction of the price of the McLaren and the Mustang couldn’t use half its power.

Series looks like it’ll be a good ‘un.
My Mustang was £42K a fraction of the price of the mclaren and half the value of the jag, surely the best bang for buck of the three (i know mines a 5.0 GT and the Hennessy would be nearer the price of the jag)
Fair enough, being an owner you’ll obviously know more than I ever will, but it did look pretty obvious that all that power was a complete waste as it could never use it properly, it seemed outdragged by the other two in all of the challenges. I guess like you said that Hennessey version would be nearer the Jag price so for me the Jag wins.

Not that I’d turn down either of the other two!

Wanted to enjoy it, but found the three car feature not varied enough for the hour. Too long, needed other stuff to balance it out.

Filmed well, but didn't really hold my interest.

Mrs hated it. hehe

It's about the same level as Grandads Tours (hope im the first one to say that) on Amazon. They could do better but I think little kids will love all the stupid challenges that bore an adult.
At least they seem to do things together unlike TGT where you get the idea they drop in to film thier bit between farmhouse purchases and other old boy activity.

Really good start can't fault it, yes same format, but really pisses on TGT how to make a good car show.
Really? I found it utterly indistinguishable from TGT, actors aside. They seem completely interchangeable with each other.

Good enough start, makes Grand Tour look rather sad. Even the 'banter' <shudder> was better than CHM who seem to have totally run out of chemistry.
Again, I beg to differ. To me the 'banter' felt like people who can't act reading lines off a page.

Enjoyed that , how nice did the cars sound !
Harris's summisation of the C7 RS6's V8 matched my thoughts of the F-Type's V8: It's lacking some personality...it's got a sort of hot, planey V8, hard blare noise, which is good fun, but nothing that special.

The Mustang's V8 and the Buick 215/Rover 3.5 V8 burble sounds much better.

The 'Extra Gear' spinoff is quite short, but has hints of a more informative motoring show and is worth a look.

That was decent.Especially enjoyed the chain car racing.
Matt is the most engaging presenter but the other 2 have upped their game.
Folks, you aint going to get anything you've not seen before so I don't know what you expect from a show like this

It really was rubbish, four wheel drive verses two off road, then let's see how much damage we can do to them.

It's ok background TV but it feels like it has been created using a checklist left behind by Wilman and Clarkson.

The standard GT350R is a weapon & nothing like the GT, it's a completely different engine (N/A 5.2 Flat plane crank V8) for starters the suspension etc if you want to see how really good it is watch the links below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4f4q52J9qY

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMNifBdm_o4

The one MLB was driving was a Hennessey tuned (via a Supercharger) version which is where the 850bhp comes from, in standard form the GT350R would be close to that 570GT around a track & leave the Jaguar for dead take a look at Randy Pobsts lap times board at Laguna & Big Willow then look at the cars that are below (458/GT3 at Laguna for starters) it on the list, have no doubt about how good it is.

They're 65k in the states but in reality you'll pay 70-85k if you want one.

I forgot to add that Hennessey recommends the 630 conversion if you actually want to improve laptimes.

I found the first episode of series 3 of top gear 2.0 (or is it 3.0) pretty decent. I must admit I went elsewhere for the SITFC bit as I don't particularly find the Welshman funny. It was a solid enough start. I have watched all but the last two of series 2 of TGT and found it to be a vast improvement over their first attempt. However, I've just watched Extra Gear. Total crap and probably not helped by the fact the guest was boring or maybe he was just bored. Sabine has gone off the scale in the annoying stakes....

Acceptable enough, I liked the cars featured, the challenges weren't terrible and 2/3rds of the presenters did a decent job.

I still don't really like Rory and feel it would be stronger with him removed. No replacement needed.

I was particularly irritated by "go on look what we just come up" and his constant use of "readier" but perhaps that's just me.

Like the previous series and the Grand Tour I suspect it'll have ups and down as the series progresses but what's a down to me may well be an up for someone else.

It's car content on mainstream TV, no matter how bad it gets it's superior to the non-motoring alternatives.

I never realised Extra Gear was shown on BBC2 ,on right now.

What's the point of showing it on BBC3 ,online , and then BBC2 shortly after.....silly

Quite enjoyed tonight's V8 silliness.

Especially that thing on his left arm that kept flapping about, you'd think someone from wardrobe would have cut it off or something!?
