Surprised no comments on the winners this evening. The 2 deserved it

On the whole I've enjoyed the series but it's increasingly becoming background telly rather than something I actively watch.

Not sure we've seen the female with red hair or the black chap before have we? This series more than ever seems to have deliberately excluded certain candidates throughout.

Also did anyone else notice the interrogation phase seemed different. Recruits taking their own hoods off and I'm sure the headphones were just draped round their necks rather than over their ears??

Seems a bit… caveman to go through all that and judge the winners based purely on physical strength doesn’t it?

I put it on to record as my interest was going. However, we have just watched a re-run of the very first series from 2015 on catch up. The difference between the old and the new is chalk and cheese. The original is best as they say.

I saw this on the VM box last night, had forgotten it was recording which normally means it gets deleted swiftly after

Hopefully it'll go away for a few years and come back improved or something else takes its place

I was pretty bored throughout this series.

The editing seemed very slapdash, quite a lot of the actual ‘challenges’ seemed almost glossed over with more of a focus on the before and after bits rather than the actual tasks.

The constant flux of focus on the people also meant I didn’t really get to know or particularly care about any of the contestants either so the final was a bit of a who cares’ moment for me.

We definitely don’t need another season of this, it’s past it’s sell by date.

Agreed. My wife seems to enjoy it though. Middleton seems to have an effect on certain ladies. He does nothing for me though!

I used to love this show. Loved it.

I watched episode 1 of this series. Felt a bit meh and not watched it again.

Think Foxy and Billy should do some individual things. Foxys drugs cartel programme was decent, and his return to Afghanistan.

Harsh to though the whole course and interrogation, then get binned for not being quick enough to the hill on the last day!

I still enjoy it as its a sunday evening and theres not much else going.
But two things surprise me, I know its only for TV but In real selection would they be allowed to be so relaxed in the way they keep/maintain their accomodation?
Also what about food, Be nice seeing them have to source and feed themselves rather than a hard day out in the wilds to return back to base with hot grub all prepped for them.
Or are these sort of things not really a part of selection?

Some of the books like Foxy's and Bear Gryls cover that. Cant remember the exact story but one of them had a story about someones boot. Either it came off or wasnt polished or something. Anyway the instructor got hold of it and launched it over the building and he had to do the rest of the course with one boot.

Also when they were doing escape and evasion some old lady in a farm house, obviously used to it, beckoned them in and fed them. They all stuffed their faces then promptly threw up when they ran off again.

James fking Cracknell. Oh fking god yes. He's going to wipe the floor with the lot of them, and I mean the DS as well as the other Slebs.

Yes, looking forward to seeing how he gets on. Obvs he is likely to be physically fitter than the rest but the DS are bound to come down hard on him if he's just coasting along at the front.

Bound to be a lot of coverage of his brain injury - he did the Island a few years back didn't he and from what I recall, he struggled at times on that.

That's right he did, yes he struggled a little but he was one of the most switched on and his fitness will be way beyond anyone else. He's what 49 now. This weekend just gone he posted a 1:24 half marathon and he's not built for running at all.

Biggest problem he's going to have is being told what to do.

I don't think athletes have that problem much as they are used to doing what coaches tell them.

Cracknell will do well as he will relish the suffering - he is used to it and I suspect he has an unhealthy craving for it.

Would he be excused the milling on that basis?
