I noticed some large paint chips and even what looked like a rust scab on the rear valance, I can only imagine there was a long period between filming that shot and the work being done
In last weeks one,
Yeah I spotted that too, fresh respray & a massive scab next to the exhaust! I was not a fan of the names on the side. I get what they were going for but four was too many.

I must have dozed off during the Land Rover one, one minute it was paint it sand beige (all discussed in front of the seller. Like he cares!) I woke up and it was blue!

I will have to go again tonight.

Land Rover:
Nothing special about it... I don’t think that shade of blue suited it & overall was mostly ‘floss’.
I expect the ‘buyer’ had already agreed to purchase it, even before they had got it back to the garage.
( As long as it wasn’t beige)

Next week: R5 Gordini.
I bet DP wants a ‘surgical boot’ bodykit on it... for originality.
Paint... Yellow & black. scratchchin

Thanks Smollet

Did drew not say they would spend 8K? Other guy said more like 12 so looks like they spent 11

Another fail for drew! Why does he not listen to the advice he is given?
Because he’s a . Pure and simple

Tbh the series would be far better without him.

But, he's the draw though from the pov of the TV companies, as they like a bit of drama of the two having different ideas and having a battle over what to or not to do. He's sold himself to the TV people as being a worlds authority on Classic Cars.
This is reality TV, not a car restoration programme, the TV company don't give a feck about the car, its all about Dropey and Cowland.

But is he the draw? I don’t think so unless we have a nation of s who think he’s entertaining.

I'd much prefer it if he wasn't on it! Most of his ideas are rubbish. He should stick to selling antiques.

We have a nation of people that think Love Island, I'm a Celeb Look At Me and other utter tat like that is prime entertainment......laugh
These programmes are not aimed at people with any classic car knowledge, they are entertainment programmes aimed at people with not much knowledge, and Dropey has created this 'font of all knowledge' personna from his Antiques and other Tat TV show.......I bet the TV people think he's wonderful rolleyes

I've just watched an episode of the original Salvage Hunters (antiques one) and he bought a white 1966 Morris 1000 convertible in terrible condition. I am sure it was a converted saloon. It virtually fell apart on the trailer. Whrn he got it home, his very words were "I don't know why I buy cars because I lose money on nearly every one I buy"!! He openly said he knows very little about them! Surely the TV company should have remembered this when signing him up for Salvage Hunters Classic Cars! He cannot become an expert in five or six years between that antiques episode and the start of Salvage Hunters Classic Cars! I've been in the classic car trade, buying, restoring and selling classic vehicles, for nearly 50 years, since Drew was still in nappies. Even after nearly 50 years, I'd like to think I know more than Drew Pritchard but I would never profess to know everything.

I don't think he has used that website for years.

I have been watching the CCA Classic Car auction today and they sold the blue 1961 Volvo Amazon that they did for £7,800 plus premium. If I remember correctly, Drew and Paul paid £8k for it BEFORE they restored it. Clearly the person who bought it didn't love it!

So much for the buyer saying it was a keeper..... (if the person on the show really was the buyer of course)

Just noticed it too! Your thoughts are exactly the same as mine! He was either a fake buyer, he didn't like it, or the car isn't as good as he thought it was! With all the BS in the advert, a fake buyer seems most likely!

It was dreadful when compared to the escort.

But that's not really a fair comparison, as the HA had already been replaced by the HB Viva 12 months before the Escort even came out!

Better comparison would be the Ford Anglia or Austin/Morris 1100 or Triumph Herald.
We had a HA van on hire at work for a while until I blew the head gasket. Can't recall if this was a replacement for the Transit I tipped on it's side or the Transit replaced the Viva.....
