And yes, I would have replaced the roof panel instead, as I've had folding fabric roof in cars and hated them.

Ended up a nice car though, even though I hate black cars.

71Y with Webasto.... Did you have it fitted ?
My dad had an x plate tr7 in bright red with a webasto roof. Gond memories of that car, would actually like one!

They weren't mass produced on the line by Renault though, they were assembled at the separate small Alpine factory in Dieppe....so its possible given the 'by hand' nature of the builds they stuck a template on and sprayed them as indicated by the guy doing the graphics...?
Looked brushed on to me

Disappointed...if they had fitted a wide arch kit, they could have saved a lot of time from pulling out all those dents.
Resprayed it Yellow, but with Drew’s magic black on the roof & bonnet.
To be honest,, I was waiting for the original owner to buy it back. They spent long enough there & it contained a lot of memories of her.

Just waiting for the Disappointed... post in the declining series of posts!

I sometimes wonder if the people moaning on here about a SHCC car actually watch and LISTEN to what's been said in the programme which gives the answer to all the alternate suggestions. Re sunroof, graphics, paint, etc.

About the only thing I'd agree with was the number plate, but at the end of the day the buyer will either revert it themselves or get over it (as I have).

Yep, terrific. How on earth the thing survived in that good a condition is remarkable, considering the things rust for fun.

Only the one minor wobble when Droopy wanted the interior left alone.

They did make a good looking job of it except the van and the one owned by Roly had matt black painted dash but when restored it was gloss red....so the originality bit went out the window.
Wish they'd shown how they repaired the roof.

As an aside I was reading about the Volvo 122 they did in an earlier series.
Paid £5,000 for it, spent £4,000 and want to sell at £13,995. Reg SFF 235
Sold recently at auction for:

Yes me too, I wish they had shown the roof repair must have been difficult tidying up the poor welding.

Cracking job though looked stunning when finished and yes drew protesting about not painting the interior was his usual way of creating an argument with Paul.

“There is nothing I don’t know about these cars” says drew so why take it to a specialist?

So Drew bought and repaired the Volvo for what it is worth on the market, another suspicious selling price.

DP: “ I know everything about Morris Minors”...
“How much”...
Note how far away they stood when haggling with Giant Haystacks love child.

Seriously though., one of the best that they have done... I even think that all the others were envious.
Reminded me of that fully kitted out GPO van on Bangers & Cash.

It did turn out very nice. How it survived in such good condition as well. Nice touch with the postie stopping to take a pic too.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did nothing to the roof, the new headlining hid the welding.......how much did Paul say it would be worth,£24,000 ? And yet they sold it for £19,000

Yes, I noticed that too, and thought, I'm sure that should have been a black dash?

I think Droopy missed adding the black Post Office stencil logo on the wicker basket as well......?
