Django Unchained. Don’t think I’ve seen a film that has ‘n****r’ and ‘mother****r’ used so much throughout. Thought Leonardo di Caprio and Samuel L Jackson absolutely stole the entire film.
It's a very good film.

My 60th film at the cinema this year and this would be in the bottom two alongside Solo.

Ladybird, A Quiet Place and BlacKKKlansman ...probably.

Biggest surprise was Mission Impossible, first one I've seen in the cinema, fantastic big screen experience.

The Meg, pretty bad but still fun.

It was nowhere near as unbelievable as Skyscraper, which was just ridiculous, even for me.

5/10 & 4/10 respectively.

American Ultra.

A role that the irritating Jesse Eisenberg was born for but it didn't really work for me. It felt like a comedy script that was handed to someone with a bleak outlook who hates comedy. As a result the violence and character development lacked the humour to make it a comedy, but the plot lacked the plausibility to make a good thriller.

A shame as I loved the basic premise of Bourne Identity meets The Dude/Dumb & Dumber.

6/10. Not worth watching if you have something decent in the rack.

2 fast 2 furious - yes it's st, and yet I do like it. The challenger and yenko Camaro getting wrecked made me want to cry though!
Yeah, it is what it is, and I like it, too. Probably my favourite of the franchise.

Sicario 2

Not as good as the first one, straight forward action film. Very little tension like the first. Not a bad film, quite watchable if you watched the first.

Definitely set up for a sequel.

Quiet Place..... enjoyed it 8/10. I did spend quite a bit of the film saying "When are they gonna fix that nail"

Deadpool 2, some genuine laugh out loud moments, although it was a bit too self aware at times, breaking the 4th wall is better when its a bit more subtle imo.

Not as good as the first, but regardless, a really good action comedy for all the family.

King of Thieves (Hatton Garden heist).
Not a bad film, lots of very old actors who get together to show just how criminals really mess things up by being stupid and greedy.
7.5/10.

Good Time (2017)

Wow, loved this, right up my street, with your man out of Twilight playing a COMPLETELY different character. This about the fall out from two brothers robbing a bank.

Fascinating, moving and great cinematography. Title track by Iggy Pop, what's not to like?

9/10

Going to watch A Simple Favour Saturday, trailer looks brilliant IMO.
Very very good film up to around 3/4 through. So much potential and a great story RUINED at the end.

It should have finished when the twins were revealed, after that it turned in to a film about the insurance money. Felt like a 'proper' film up to point where she got ran over, almost like one of those American Will Ferrell stupid film.

But yes. Blake Lively is on another planet.

Due to negative reviews on this film I was going to give it a miss but you have persuaded me otherwise so a visit to the local fleapit this week it is.

On your head be it!

I thought it was good, but then again I might be a bit biased as I played on the soundtrack.

I really enjoyed the end of A Simple Favour. The whole film has a fairly strange tone (not a bad thing) so I was kinda expecting it to go a bit off the wall at some point.

My comment was tongue in cheek, but the violence is totally unrealistic cartoon violence. There are no sex scenes, most kids would've heard all the language in school already, and the jokes will be either understood, or go over their heads.

I appreciate it's a 15, but it's not an 'adult themed' film by any stretch of the imagination.
