Films I watched this week (Vol 2)

It earned $3000 from 25 screens in the UK last week, so maybe Silver Screen at Odeon or some sort of similar cheaper screening at another chain. Pretty common for films to resurface for a day or two after they've finished their natural run.
I was being a bit facetious, I like it when cinemas do this so i can catch something I missed, usually its something like 11am on Tuesday though.$3k wouldn't have covered the heating / leccy bill
I wonder what the break-even on a screening is if the cinema has already paid the distribution fee for the movie, probably two people who have spent £5 on a 5p bucket of popcorn
Further clearing of the hard disk, I watched "Darkman" with Liam Neeson last night. Even for 1990, the CGI / special effects in this are terrible, as are some of the cheesy lines. Really, really poor film without much of a conclusion, and some puzzling parts, such as how the homeless fugitive manages to build and equip a new laboratory, and how he gets hold of a fairly high-end Nikon SLR which would have been fairly expensive back then, and possibly still now.
Another one to see Girl/Spider's Web here tonight. Not overly convinced it could really be considered to be an extra part of the trilogy but as movie in its own right it was watchable enough. However, I did think that Mechant was miscast and a mistake to have him in this.
I was distracted by the (facial) similarity of the character in red to Princess Nuala from Hellboy 2
6 out 10 ear piercings.
Once again though, it was a private screening, but that doesn't stop them from running whole 20 minutes of pre-show adverts. (That's the Asda Christmas one below)

I arrive 20 minutes after the advertised start at Odeon, at the very least that gets me through all the ads and most of the trailers.
In the good old days of buying tickets from people not machines, we used to ask when the film actually started, and nine times out of ten the tickety person would look down at their screen and give us a precise time to walk in on, usually 22-25 mins after the time advertised, just as well it was so dark to hide the smug look on our faces when we walked in bang on the start*. *This only works at quiet screenings where there were plenty of seats

Exactly, who on earth arrives on time and sits through 25-30 mins of that crap? 20 mins "late" is usually perfect to catch the trailers (which I like) and miss the restElectronicpants said:

yeah, great for quiet screenings, not so great for packed house. I used to hate annoying tts that come late (lights out, film started etc), I have long legs so it was always a palava.*This only works at quiet screenings where there were plenty of seats

I arrive at the allotted time simply not to inconvenience others by arriving when the film actually starts.
I...a) book aisle seats
b) more often than not go on Mondays, which is by far the quietest day
I've never had to 'excuse me' or walk in front of anyone in nearly 70 films so far this year (and I've never missed the start of a film either, usually settled 5 minutes before the BBFC card).
Saw Bo Rap today - fully enjoyed it for what it was. Loved the music and the Live Aid bit was done very well.
Timings - we thought we were running really late as we were eating beforehand and it took ages for the food to arrive - however, we turned up over 20 minutes late, saw one trailer and the film started. Perfect!
