I like Mandy a lot, really a lot.
I think Rogue One is a better separate Star Wars film than Solo.
I like SyFy shark/monster/disaster films.

Sometimes the production values on Sharknado films are just too good, you need a bit of 3 headed shark attack or Terrordactyl to keep it real hehe
As stated above, I watched Roboshark yesterday, it has its feet, and fins, firmly on the ground. biggrin

I use IMDB as my benchmark, and have a cut off at their 6.2. This film scores a close-run 6.5 hehe
And I still feel this rule should be broken for Black Sheep (5.8), The Box (5.6) and Idle Hands (6.2), which has at least crept up to reach your threshold recently.

Challenge accepted.
I'll watch them all over the next couple of weeks and (honestly) report back. I'm all for continuous review of standards!

I haven't seen the others, but if you mean Black Sheep the Aussie comedy horror, that's one of my favourites smile .

Yes, I can't even begin to process how it has such a low user score.

re:View from RedLetterMedia of The Rocketeer - a film that I have a lot of affection for, not least due to the Dieselpunk aesthetic

I watched The Rocketeer on Bluray last night, and I pretty much agree with everything that the guys on RLM re:View said about it.

On the whole it worked pretty well. I don't see how the mooted remake / reboot would work now though, given the similarities with Iron Man (which obviously came out long after the original Rocketeer, but any remake / reboot would come after)

Sisters Brothers.

Wow, there's slow.....and there's this.

Not a bad film.....but man alive nothing happens for a long time....then it ends.
Stays true to the book then. Which was utterly dull.

A few years old now but just got round to watching Whiplash. 50% Full Metal Jacket and 50% Rocky and with a finale that is more riveting than both.

Which is quite weird since its a movie about a kid at a music school trying to get the number 1 drummer spot in the school jazz band.

8/10 and I don't even like Jazz

Fantastic film, was suggested by the GF and I wasn't that fussed to watch it. 10 minutes in I was hooked, hardly said a word the whole film. It's a 9/10 from me.

If you want something in a similar vein, watch Locke with Tom Hardy.

Basic premise, Tom Hardy drives down the M1 in a BMW X5 and speaks to people on his car phone, The End

Locke is a fantastic film. I nearly didn’t bother with it after reading the premise (summarised well in the spoiler above) but am glad that I did.

Phantoms 1998

Awful but great. But awful.

Based on a Dean Koontz book, first one I was ever given as a child that was in a stack of books from my aunt. 7/10 from a creature feature fan
