The Goonies
4K restoration screening at my local Odeon on one of their biggest screens. Still one of my all-time favourites, super pleased to have ticked it off the list of seeing it in the cinema finally. Just need to find a Jaws screening and that's my top 5 all watched theatrically.

Great fun watching it with 1000 other people all chuckling at the classic moments. Also gave a completely different appreciation of the complexity and layers to the music that is otherwise 'filler' under normal circumstances. Sounds silly but watching real life chimes and a piccolo making the definitive BTTF high notes rather than a key on a synthesiser was a, er, high note.
9.5 roads out of 10 not needed.

Vanilla Sky - still one of the best films I think I've seen, if you haven't seen it - it is definitely worth watching
I agree, for all its complexities and true romance. And subtle humor i.e.,
"Were brothers!!" (holds fist up)
"What's wrong with your face?"
(Stares into mirror and laughs at himself) Also loved the quick bond he had with the bartender.

'Point Blank', from 1967 starring Lee Marvin and Angie Dickinson, I haven't watched it for a few years so put the dvd on last night... Marvin doesn't have to do much at all to steal every frame he's in, I'd forgotten how good this film is. Directed by Brit John Boorman...
Never realised John Prescott was in it (bloke at the back in a blue suit and (natch) red tie).Avengers: Endgame (Spoiler Free)
Sat on this for a couple of days before coming to a conclusion, but I love, love it. Was it the most inventive, fun, emotional or challenging film I’ve seen in the past few years? Nope, but it was strong enough in all of those areas (way stronger than I expected) that as a sum of its parts it’s an incredible achievement.
It managed to be incredibly fast paced for a 3 hour movie, yet somehow remarkably generous with its time for quieter moments with so, so many characters. It also managed to cram in a huge number of callbacks yet be surprisingly accessible if you’ve only seen Infinity War from the MCU. There are 3 distinct sections, an impressively quiet first act that I thought was pretty brave for a mainstream mega-hit, a wonderful, wonderful middle act that was a big surprise and so much fun (and full-on belly laugh funny), and then a more traditional (but staggering) superhero final act with some truly iconic moments.
I initially felt like I couldn’t watch it again, but the more I thought about the many lines, scenes, moments etc I’m desperate to go back. I’d also highly recommend going at the busiest screening you can find as it’s a crowd pleaser like no other.

Will Smith as an experience con-man; Margot Robbie as a glamorous aspiring griffter.
Bit thin, but couple of scenes are decent; particularly the escalating betting at the Superbowl & I'll watch most things that feature Margot Robbie.
Also, and I'll stand to be corrected... but I can't think of another film where a Peugeot RCZ features so prominently.

Saw it last night. Don't know why I missed it originally! It wasn't what I expected. Without looking into it I thought it would be a typical Tom Cruise vehicle, ( which in a way I guess it was) but I thoroughly enjoyed.
7.2 nutty women/10 fairly norms

Just got back from Avengers; excellent film. Strangely slow and thoughtful at first, then a rollercoaster till the end. Really didn't feel like 3 hours!Sat on this for a couple of days before coming to a conclusion, but I love, love it. Dog Soliders.
Not seen since it came out and loved it then. Other half is away so me and my 3 boys watched it. (18,16,12)
Despite the usual protests of "this is old" and "its not even in 1080p" they were soon hooked. As expected, Spoon in the kitchen boxing for his life was a highlight.
In the words of Loaded magazine.....A bh of a Werewolf Movie!
And not a CGI in sight!!!!!

Watched Can you ever forgive me? over the weekend.
Based on a true story, it's a sombre tale of desperate people and the things they do escape their situation.
No action, no shooting, no car chases. Literary content. You'd probably like it, if you liked 'The Lady in the Van'.
It got 6.5 from me and 7.5 from Lady V8.
