I’ve been off work for a week with nothing at all to do so I watched;

Superman
Superman 2
Superman 3
Superman 4
The Longest Yard
The Do Over
Unstoppable
The Taking of Pelham 123
21 Jump Street
22 Jump Street
The Great Escape
21 and Over
That Awkward Moment
Mean Machine
First Man
Full Metal Jacket
American Beauty
Cube
The Cabin in the Woods
Juliet, Naked

I think that’s it. I’ve wasted a week off to be honest.

three films that share two names, which versions did you watch? The Statham and Sandler versions?

Just watched a few of the Pitch meetings laugh
they are amazing.

Films.
Spider-Man into the Spiderverse
NIce film, entertaining, interesting macguffin
The Mule
Excellent, another great thought provoking film from the master.
Laurel & Hardy
Nice easy going film about the legends, learned a few things, but wasn't as good as I thought it would be.
Welcome to Marwen
Bit weird, thought the main guy was a bit of a creep. He had been through awful trauma though.
The Bleeder
Bland, verging on tedious, but I watched it because I have an interest in Chuck Wepner.
Ruby Sparks
lovely lil sci-fi/fantasy film with an off beat feel. Watched this not knowing if I would like the film, ending, lead...any of it, wondering if I'd end up hating the whole thing...it was certainly a tad different. THank fk it didn't piss me off (a la La La Land)

Green Book, very nice, touching movie, not in your face, just interesting and poignant.

Especially the end.

I liked The Mule and I thought Clint did a decent job but the storyline was flawed - "look they are pulling over all the black SUV's", the next day - "oh, we got pulled over in a black SUV". Really!! It wouldn't have been hard to just change vehicles once in a while...Jeez!

Watched a few last week:-

Alita: Battle Angel - Way better than I expected, CGI and action/fight scenes were very well realised. The ending annoyed me though, a clear setup for a sequel but, felt like the film just stopped when there was so much more to be resolved. I'm docking a point for that so only 7/10

The Upside - Before anyone asks, no I didn't watch the original. Normally, I avoid Kevin Hart at all costs but, having watched his excellent performance here, I've warmed to him. When he puts his mind to it, he can manage to not come across as a total dick! The chemistry between him and Cranston was well acted and felt genuine. A very enjoyable movie 8/10

Green Book - Not much I can add that hasn't already been said. Great film, entirely worthy of it's accolades 9/10

Johny English Strikes Again - Not quite as silly as Mr Bean but, plenty silly enough to be thoroughly entertaining from start to finish. Nice Aston too smile7/10

Midnight Special
great lil scifi film. Michael Shannon gives his customary great performance and there's good backups. Simple story well executed, with some surprising moments and I didn't know where it'd end up. Lovely.

Bright (2017) - biggest surprise for me as the lukewarm reviewed films go. It's simply unique, despite its many flaws. I really was falling asleep when we put it on, but it kept me up straight for 2 hours. One of those films for me where rating doesn't matter.

Fast & Furious....errrr.... god knows, one of them, after 10 minutes I'd stopped caring.

I thought I'd give one of these a go as I had seen a couple of trailers for one or two, they've made more money than Pepsi and seen that some pretty major manufacturers had clearly given their permission to use their brand and cars. And the question that arises from that is WHY? For gods sake WHY?

I can't really describe it as bad because it was beyond that. It is amazing what modern CGI can do however because they managed to edit out the little boys hands and his bedroom.

Eh? You might be saying. What do you mean Toady?

Well to me the film looked like it was a 6 year old lad hopped out of his box on a 4 pack of Red Bull, playing with his Hot Wheels & Matchbox cars, going "Kerpow! Kerpow! daka!-daka!-daka!-daka! Brummmm,,, Brummm..... Brummm..... Eyowww....daka!-daka!-daka!-daka!"

To me it was beyond criticism, the only thing you can say about it is that was pitiful, utterly and completely pitiful. But clearly as one of them is the 9th biggest grossing film of all time, I am obviously the one in the wrong on this one. But you could strap me down. staple open my eyes and show me all of them all on the continious loop for four and half weeks & I still would be going,

"No, don't get it. Really get don't get it. Can someone please touch my knees? I can't feel them anymore,"

0 smashed Corgi James Bond Aston Martins out of 10 Eagle transporters lost on a bring your favourite toy to school day.

I knew you stole it Colin Bishop, I fking knew.

I liked Tokoyo Drift, which was panned, and I love over acting so might give it go.
