I think Ben has Asperger's Syndrome. That is probably the "strangeness" that ppl are picking up on.

i feel a bit sorry for the bloke copper, he appears to be a really nice bloke but so dull that he cant get a spark going with his new mrs. she looked lovely on the wedding day mind. she isnt the life and soul either so i can see why the psychologists have paired them. she comes across as very introverted so its to be expected that she will need a lot more warming up and not be spontaneous. as of that third episode i would bet that they still havent consumated the marriage! ben and his wife on the other hand, polar opposites but with those highs are also the lows. i dont think she is that fit however and a “millionaire jack the lad” like him is probably used to tapping fitties.

My missus is watching this currently , I caught a few minutes of it last night and definitely found that Ben character very annoying quite quickly.

Interesting that someone on here has previous experience of him .
Allegedly has experience of him.
He’s hard to fathom, someone said that they didn’t know cockneys came from Melton Mowbray, if you listen to his speech patterns, he is definitely not a cockney.
Maybe because he/they seem to be based in London, people assume that he’s a Londoner.
One of my nieces came round last night, she’d never seen the programme, but I played the latest episode to give her an idea about it, and asked for her thoughts.
She’s 34 y.o., and a slim good looking fashionable dresser, who could pass for Jennifer Lawrence’s sister, if it wasn’t for her soft Scottish accent.
She said, “Ben is a not unattractive guy, he gives the impression that he’s got more front than Brighton, but underneath he may lack self confidence, while I’d never go for this meet and marry the same day nonsense, if he had approached me in a bar before I met my Danny, I’d have had a drink with him.”
I felt sorry for the police sergeant, and the finance manager he married, the “this is going nowhere vibes” were leaping out of the screen.

I thought Steph was a beautiful, warm, passionate and fun person. Will make a wonderful wife.

But not for Ben.

Feel sorry for the girl he married. She seems absolutely lovely.

Apparently she found they were divorcing via the radio interview he gave.

Also Some other girl has come along and said that she was in a relationship with him the entire time the show was being filmed and only found out about it all when he was on the TV.

I'm not watching. Nor will I.

I'm not married or in the least bit religious but something about this whole concept doesn't sit right with me.

She's got trust issues and he's chosen his best female mate as his best man?

She's a good looking girl apart from the tattoos. She does have a moody look about her though.

Judging by Jonathan's 'stag' do full of women he's been friend-zoned a million times. I don't think he'll do it for her.

I haven’t seen any of the new series, so I can’t comment on what I haven’t seen, but I was going to have a platonic female friend as my best man when I married.
In the event, we had the ceremony in a County Courthouse in rural Florida, so a best man was superfluous, so she flew down from New York to be a witness.
My wife knew of her, and had met her once or twice, but in the 25 years since the wedding, they’ve morphed into sisters, she’ll come over and stay with us, and every year my wife goes to NYC, where they shop until they drop, then hit Broadway for dinner and a show.

Something a bit odd about him. I think she has ticked a few boxes on the form to say what she thinks she wants, after a few bad relationships, but in reality he's probably too dull. Her body language and forced smiles at the wedding suggests she's already unsure!

The first couple look even more doomed this week. I'm not sure how they linked those two.

The second couple look better suited. I don't think she'll look back well on the programme tonight though.

His dad was fuming at the wedding and the mother didn't exactly help with her comments of "it's not all about the looks".

I don't think she's realised she's no youngster and the plastic surgery has aged badly.

hehe the father is quite outspoken whereas the parents usually just go along with it. Agree the plastic surgery does need redoing biggrin

The lad is obviously quite sociable. I’m not sure why he is on it. The girl is a bit nerdy but I think they will get on unless he thinks he is too good for her as he is quite a lad despite being an average looking person.

Other couple, lad comes across really feminine. Girl potentially a nutcase but still in touch with normality than the lad. I guess at 39 and not being really confident of himself its a last ditch attempt where as the girl could probably bag a husband in the future. No goer that marriage.

The first couple are exactly like last years couple. You can tell within minutes that they won't work. Perhaps I'll be proved wrong but it doesn't look that way. Nerd/unconfident guy paired with hotter girl used to bad boys. How can they pair them up after last year?!

It appears that Jack and Verity are a match made in heaven, the kid can’t stop smiling, and comes across as a real nice guy.
From what we’ve seen on TV, she can’t believe her luck, I think that he’ll have to do something really bad before she stops thinking that they’ve done the right thing.
As for his parents, I think that his father is seeing it exactly how I might if one of my boys had announced that he was marrying someone he’d never seen.
My initial reaction would have been, “What! Are you fuc*ing INSANE?”
It would seem that Jack’s previous girlfriends have been absolute stunners, but come on, Verity may not be your idea of a beauty, but she’s definitely very attractive.
Jack’s mother seemed very protective of her cub, and if Jack wants to keep his wife happy, he’s going to have to have a serious talk with his mother, or I envisage bad feeling ahead.
As for Jonathan and the nurse, (sorry, forgot her name), that doesn’t look good, I think that he’s trying too hard to be romantically pleasing, little gifts and vomit inducing matching T-Shirts.
I can see her giving him the sack real soon, I’m going out on a limb here, but I think that she needs a bad boy, not too bad, someone to be a little masterful, without being over physical.
Someone who she can wake up next to, and think, “Gee, I hope he’s gonna do that again, that was great.”

Next episode tonight. Loads of spoilers in the media about Jonathan and Steph. Jonathan and Verity as a couple and Jack and Steph would have looked like far more obvious matches to me, personality and looks wise at least.

Verity seems like a really nice girl and probably very easy to please (unlike Steph) but I can’t imagine her having much real appeal for Jack based on the suggestion that he dates stunners normally. As lovely as she is, she is plain in the looks dept, and geeky. Opposites may attract however....
