If I have a criticism of this programme, it's that they spend a bit too much time on the setup beforehand and the reaction afterwards. I would like to see more of the actual work.
Isn't that the way of all modern TV.its just missing 'coming up we will look at....' and 'before the break we....'
padding that this show really doesn't need, plenty of actual work just to watch.
Just needs more vintage electronics.
It's one of the few 'must watch' series on any channel for us, the skill and attention to detail of all the craftsmen and women is thoroughly absorbing.
It isn't supposed to be a 'how to do it' programme (anyone remember Barry Bucknall?) and I like seeing how much the repaired objects mean to the people who have taken them in.

Anyone watching the current series? Utterly bewildering the skills on show, if I have one criticism it’s that I’d prefer to see more of the work rather than little snippets of other experts working on stuff that’s not being featured.
Tonight’s show was something else though with the restoration of the teddy bear. Apparently the lady who brought it in said it had belonged to her step father who she lost to cancer three weeks earlier. Having lost my mum late last year to the same disease it was very emotional and raw watching the reveal.
Anyways, for me, one of the best things on TV right now.
