I feel a pro PCP / anti PCP arguement forming.

£3k down at the front, £3k on the drip and £8k at the end. Meh!

Other brands of Superbike are available - I would, from a fairly neutral (brand wise) point of view suggest that the Suzuki GSX-R1000 is best value for money at the moment.

Loaded up my crate for a euro trackday at the weekend and the chaps next to me were two single travellers sharing so they were generally chatting away as they packed their bikes & kit. The butchered, scratched, tatty & dusty road spec Ducati Panigale being strapped down was apparently on PCP - "I was hoping to trade it in and get something new but I think I own it now!" said the bloke cheerfully. Lordy!!

Meanwhile my mates are riding their 3 week old PCP £13k and £23k bikes out there to thrash around. Double Lordy!!

World's going / gone mad.

That is one hell of an offer looks like quite a few manufacturers are pushing zero interest.

A friend is looking at a similar deal from Hunts

http://www.huntsmotorcycles.co.uk/NewBikes/2017-ho...

Same 0% financing, £2000 down with a £500 contribution from the dealer on top and then £99 a month. Black bikes only though apparently.

It’s looking like a good way to buy a bike and avoid tying up a chunk of money. I’ve never been a massive fan, but even if you trade it in at the end there’s likely to be £2000 of equity in there so you can start up again on a £100 a month for another brand new bike.

There will be zero equity at the end, in my experience. You’ll need to tip in another deposit of some sort in order to get into the new one. You basically hand it back and walk away, hope that you’ve kept the mileage down and accept that you rented a bike for 3 years.
My BMW is on PCP, as was the last one. No idea whether I’m better or worse off under this particular instrument, only that I couldn’t afford this bike without it.

I’ve never done it, so can’t speak about the end of term. I just thought that 3 year old bikes are getting more than £8000 in the current market, so there’d be some equity. If not it’s still not a bad deal as you pay for the depreciation aspect and walk away, rather than messing about with p/ex or private sales.

Sounds a good deal reading this although I didn't click the link

It's a honda though and unless I was using it on track I'd rather watch paint dry

PCP works out great if something depreciates heavily.

I'd rather 'pay' 3000 in depreciation over monthly instalments and then hand it back, instead of using capital to buy it and then for it to lose 5000 in depreciation.

For myself personally (besides the fact I don't need a sports bike) insurance - getting any cover ungaraged in East London LOL
Seems like a pretty good deal besides this.

In this case the deal is £6k so if it only depreciates £5k you would have paid £1k extra not to use the capital.

I thought it works out great if it doesn't lose much value.

Ie, if it's 20k but in 3 years expected to still be 18k, it means you pay very little alltogether for owning it for the 3 years.

Which means you can own a vehicle otherwise out of reach.

All dependant on interest rates and deposit of course

Just my view... any previous gen 13 to 15 plate low mileage litre bike can be had for around 7k (less than half of a current gen one) and the only thing you wont have is a bazillion stage traction control, wheelie control etc; and if you are taking the loan option then just get one from your bank, it will be pretty low interest also and you can close it early, make over payments to reduce your interest amount to something negligible.

Must admit, I made a few enquiries recently - if you find yourself a 6 month old example with minimal miles on it, they will still offer PCP - best offer I got was £59 a month with £3k down, and with a very reasonable mileage allowance too (IIRC 4k/yr)

Mind you, the 'cash' price of that bike from Lings is good for brand new.
