Virgin are fast becoming as big a bunch of shysters as the other lot of late.
Been a VM customer since Beardies days od Dial up, but am fast becoming a disgruntled user.
I cant leave as Im in contract, but YOU can out the prices up during that contract.....bla bla bla
Only really need Eurosport for Bike racing tbh.

According to Virgin it is what their customers want..

If you switch to any of the channels that is being lost you get a pop up informing you what it is being replaced with.

I'm fine with the changes.
I don't watch any of those channels and 1 of the new channels is Quest in HD which is good news for us supporters of championship football teams.
As an aside have you noticed when you switch to a SD channel that has an HD equivalent a pop up comes on screen to press the blue button to switch to the HD channel ?

I don't know why the box isn't more intelligent with this. Here in the US (I'm with a provider called Spectrum) when I select a channel it will show the HD version anyway.I don't watch any of those channels and 1 of the new channels is Quest in HD which is good news for us supporters of championship football teams.

At first I was going to get grumpy at VM but really I don't want much TV anymore let alone UKTV channels. The article mentions that the BBC is selling it's stuff to Steaming services and not letting VM have them (is that right?) hence why VM are throwing it's toys out the pram? Hopefully this means that more than 3 seasons will come to Netflix? It's annoying that I only have 3 seasons of each Mock the Week and QI which would be nice.
The only channel I'd really miss is Yesterday to be honest that has some interesting shows with nothing of the same quality on other channels.

As we’re between houses at the moment, we’re trying to use Talk Talk internet at my fathers house. Virgin Media is worth it just for the internet speeds. Sod Dave and the rest of UKTV.
Yep, had Virgin for donkeys years and never had an issue with the internet, and as for losing these channels; oh well I can't say I've ever watched them.Had great customer service off Virgin last week; rang them on Tuesday with an issue with the second box in the house which is in my daughters room; a TiVo box, which has been playing up, an engineer was arranged for next day in the afternoon up to 19:00, had 2 phone calls (one from the engineer and the other from his office) at 18:30 to say he was running late but would be there, he arrived at about 19:30, he turned the box on and said it was knackered, produced a TV6 Box (already have one downstairs), subsequently spent over an hour setting it up (poor bloke) and he had another job to go to.
I almost had a second TV6 box added when we changed our package a few months back but they wanted £50 and an additional £7.50 per month, this new box was free and there is no additional monthly charge for it.

The list of so called new channels. Is a load of old channels moving channel numbers Eric Mc said:
It is rather dramatic to remove all these channels.
As an aside, how do I run ordinary TV through my TV AND keep watching through Virgin at the same time?
Just plug in an aerial or satellite as normal. As an aside, how do I run ordinary TV through my TV AND keep watching through Virgin at the same time?
Use the TV remote to switch between the TV and the TiVo input.

If the channels are on Freeview then surely there isn't a problem - unless people tend to bin their TV aerials when they get Virgin?
This is true... except for "Gold", "Alibi", "W", "Eden", and "Good Food".https://corporate.uktv.co.uk/about-uktv/article/ou...

There are a few new channels. I'm particularly interested in "Horse & Country". Edited by gareth_r on Saturday 21st July 14:14
