Right result eventually, to be honest Lauren should have gone about six weeks ago. Joe had a definite wobble this week as he’s been much better recently soon that respect I think he deserves his spot. Perhaps the only one that might have been better was Charles who improved massively both as a dancer and how he appeared before the camera after his couples’ choice dance.
Agree that Lauren should have gone a few weeks back. And although I like Joe a lot (and would happily watch Dianne just stand still doing nothing) he hasn't improved much recently and certain dances of his are really average.

I think Charles ended up a better dancer than Joe and I actually really grew to like him in the end, which is amazing considering what a bellend he seemed at first. He was genuinely humble and grateful and obviously really enjoying himself.

Oh well, fairly predictable final four all things considered and I'd be happy if either of Faye/Stacey win. Would argue Stacey deserves it more but Faye is just lovely.

Surely if someone gets to the final just because he has a large internet following it undermines the whole show

Why? Because an internet following isn't a 'real' following in your mind?

How is that any different to a TV star who gets there because they have a massive public following?

No, because they would have voted for him whatever his dancing ability. Obviously we will never now what happend, but something doesn’t look right

Feel a bit for Joe though as in terms of ability he’s definitely the fourth of the four but it should be a good final nonetheless as the other three really are the business. Would love to see Faye win but won’t be too disappointed if it’s Stacey. Looking forward to it hugely now.
If the final is just on public vote how can Joe not win?

Indeed. Or a popular radio host with a huge public following.

Internet followers are just as real as more traditional media.

Exactly the same happens with big TV & radio personalities. This is no different..

Rather easily I’d guess. Neither Stacey nor Faye have been in a dance off either so who’s to say Joe’s pulling in more votes than them. Also, just because you’ve got a lot of internet followers it doesn’t automatically mean that they’ll all either give a toss about the show or about voting for him. I’d guess a large number might be overseas followers so might not be able to vote even if they wanted to.

Right decision, but it won't help Ashley very much. The Final only uses the public vote, so she'll not be getting very far !. Perhaps the BBC will now learn to not put highly skilled, trained, dancers in Strictly in future.
Unlikely given their track record so far (excluding the current series) - Gemma Atkinson, Alexandra Burke, Mollie King and most blatantly Debbie McGee all had formal dance training.

He's got 8m subscribers. Take out as you say overseas, plus kids, you're probably on a par with early 40's steps fans who've had too much wine.

The Strictly final show last year was over 13-million. We watch every show time delayed and never vote.

Except the final.

I feel certain that Ashley will not be in the last three, but I would not bet on the others. 13 million x 6-votes each can dwarf Joe’s following.

For me it’s still Stacey or Joe.

I wouldn’t be too disappointed if Faye won either.

Ashley is good but way too much experience IMO.

I think that Ashley is the best celebrity dancer I've ever seen on SCD. She's danced to the best of her ability and has been completely outstanding at nearly every dance.

If I was her I wouldn't worry at all about winning because SCD is completely bogus as a competition.

Perhaps. But if you are a celebrity then pretty much by definition you care about how popular you are and what people think of you. It must be a big knock in confidence to keep getting so few public votes that you find yourself in the dance-off three weeks in a row.

But it's not about her, personally. It's about the perception of her ability as a dancer which supposedly gives her an advantage over the others - "it's not fair play old sport!"

Honestly what was she supposed to say when the BBC called, "no sorry I think I'll be a bit too good for your program"!

Oh it’s definitely about her. On the Strictly FB page (yes, I know), there are even comments that she’s a cheat because she’s a pro! Other comments are downright nasty and completely uncalled for. Plus she’s quite a sassy women unlike Faye’s girl next door persona, so for the average thick Brit being an American too automatically makes her an arrogant gobsh*te who knows she’s better than everyone else, thinks she’s the only one who deserves to win so needs taking down a peg or two.

Personally, despite wanting Faye to win, I’d be quite happy for it to finish Ashley, Faye, Joe then Stacey just to tip the mouth frothing bile filled Daily Mail readership into apoplexy.

They will all know how it works, they will know that every year people who are brilliant don't progress for non-dance related issues. Most celebrities will have faced more rejection than success in their career, the ones who succeed are the ones who use that rejection as motivation IMHO.

Ashley looks like somebody who will try harder and harder to impress with ever more complex and perfect routines, she'll be 4th next week though wink

You're almost certainly right.

I bet that behind closed doors her forced smile disappears and she turns the air blue with "what the fk am I supposed to do here?"

I feel sorry for her, tbh.
