Oh it’s definitely about her. On the Strictly FB page (yes, I know), there are even comments that she’s a cheat because she’s a pro! Other comments are downright nasty and completely uncalled for. Plus she’s quite a sassy women unlike Faye’s girl next door persona, so for the average thick Brit being an American too automatically makes her an arrogant gobsh*te who knows she’s better than everyone else, thinks she’s the only one who deserves to win so needs taking down a peg or two.

Personally, despite wanting Faye to win, I’d be quite happy for it to finish Ashley, Faye, Joe then Stacey just to tip the mouth frothing bile filled Daily Mail readership into apoplexy.
I suppose the 'average thick Brit' might just wonder if you're American too....

I used to play 5-a-side football in the same place that Charlie Chaplin went to school. Just thought I'd mention that laugh

Is she in the dance off?
Sorry for the inadvertent spoiler!

Forgot that some people still watch on "Sunday"....

If you hadn't have said, people would have assumed a typo / error.

But if it was a spoiler, then please can you be more careful about posting spoilers next week. Ta!

I think it is also about Ashley on a more personal level. She just isn't very likeable or warm or humble or anything much else. And she wasn't any better long before the dance offs and realising she wasn't popular.

Obviously people think she's a pro and don't like it but really she was always going to struggle up against Joe, Stacey and Faye all of whom come across far better, more genuine, more grateful and amazed at how far they've got etc

Some people just aren't very charming/nice/interesting etc and subsequently never win over the public. See Alexandra the Burke.

Lauren was bloody dull too but she got votes for other reasons as she was genuinely inspiring people/kids and breaking taboos a bit about disabled people being able to dance

Went to a Christmas dinner & party at a local hotel once and when the disco started this chap with another party jumped up and started dancing. It was only after a while we noticed he only had one leg. Always remember that.

To be honest, I think Ashley would have been better advised to have entered the American version ("Dancing with the Stars") rather than Strictly.

It's not uncommon for people to dance when they're legless. smile

Not so much a typo as so much as posting with out thinking. Given it's so readily available and that Sunday isn't live we never bother watching it. I find it all a bit daft but that's another argument.

Apologies all around!

No harm done on this occasion. I just assumed you'd miscounted.

Wasn't having a go at you, btw.

There are nasty comments online about absolutely everyone in the public eye - they're all irrelevant.

Not one Strictly vote is for "who you want to leave". They're all for "who you want to remain" - note, not "who do you think is the best dancer".

As such, someone like Ashley is always on a hiding to nothing. No one can particularly empathise or engage with someone already incredible day one. Nor has she a huge personal following in the UK that'll vote for her just because.

So, she's left trying to garner votes. Whether planned or not, Charles did that - started talking about family/upbringing, became visibly more humble and grateful, etc. Ashley hasn't done any of that.

I don't dislike her, but she won't gain my support - even compared to all the others with dance experience, she's an outlier. Then, personality wise, perhaps the best I can say is that I've not yet seen one.

if it were based on pure popularity than Joe could win

if it were about the best dancer then it would be ashley

if it were about the journey then it would be stacey or joe as neither have danced before.

its an entertainment programme that happens to be about dancing - the celebs are not learning to dance, hence those that can dance already - ashley / faye have an obvious advantage - they have had to learn routines, timing, etc stacey and joe havn't had that.

The pussycat dolls modelled themselves on a burlesque style ffs, that is dancing to a routine. Steps - danced routines on stage to music night after night and importantly "performed". that is an obvious advantage.

I would like to see stacey win as I think joe might have just peaked but alot depends on the show dance. a couple of years ago Ore and Joanne were probably 3rd favourate to win it and came through in the end.

Anybody else notice there were fewer glimpses of Fay and Lauren's knickers than Ahley's?
I wonder if each competitor can put a block on it. I remember Ann Widdicomb said she wouldn't be showing the audience anything she wouldn't show the Pope.

I didn't think there were any. Aren't their dresses basically frillied up leotards, designed specifically to protect their modesty? If you're hoping for a cheap thrill you've got more chance of seeing something on ITT.
