Killing the Home Secretary wouldn't stop the Government bringing in new, more restrictive legislation, if anything it'd make it easier for them to justify.

Entertaining in a mindless kind of way, nothing wrong with that now and then though.

I watched the whole thing on Sunday - I think I would have found it frustrating if I watched it over the run.

Good but nto great - let down a but by the ending.

I foudn the aggresive nature of the armed Polcie who were dealing with Nadfia and Budd when they had the bombs on to be somewhat ridiculous. Why would you shout at someone who is already tense.

Despite the lead actor being pretty wooden I still enjoyed it. Last episode was a bit 'convenient' and it has left lots of questions.

Despite enjoying it I don't think it's a patch on Mercurios other show 'Line of Duty' which if anyone has seen they will know it was exactly the same, conspiracies run deep and it all comes together in later series. I imagine this will be the same here.

If you have not seen Line Of Duty then go check it out, similar to this but even better to watch.
I will be back for the next season, yes I will suspend belief but that's what this show is all about, just good Sunday night gripping who dunnit entertainment.
I agree with the LoD comments. However, I can see some similarities between the later series of LoD and Bodyguard; basically increasingly complicated plots, lots of twists and red herrings, some inexplicable behaviour from key characters that's never really explained with an ending that leaves you deflated and going "Huh?".

I'm also reminded of Doctor Who in that the stories became so complicated they disappeared up their own arse.

Indeed, poorly advised, the whole situation was a farce. Letting him walk through London wearing a bomb, yeah right.

And?
It’s a drama of fiction made to a budget and was very good.

Even if you don’t think it was good Netflix is already in a bidding war and will win the rights to season2 they clearly do. Plus if you don’t pay for Netflix you can rub hands with glee and never have to see it again.

You know when your missus pauses the telly at a crucial moment:

Just as he took the lid off the control unit.

I enjoyed the whole series, despite its unbelievable scenarios to help the plot along. ( I’m not ex police or armed forces, I fix printers, however there were no office printers doing automatic duplexing when the actual model used is only capable of manual duplexing so I was happy with that)
Some of the loose ends were just that, red herrings thrown in to confuse, hence their not being tied up.
For clarity on who owns what the bbc has that info.

The production company that made it and sold it to the bbc for UK/Irish broadcast sold the rights to streaming for the rest of the world to Netflix ( I read somewhere that this happened before filming).
That production company has now been bought by ITV.

The part that confused me, they showed him hiding the hard drive in the boiler then it being dug up in a garden.
Good point - one for series 2?
Obviously vanished down the boiler garden time continuum wormhole in keeping with the stupidity of the rest of the farce. Very enjoyable though

Yes, I've sent a strongly worded email to Vaillant that they haven't fitted an automatic emergency "hide stuff from the rozzers" escape hatch like Worcester Bosch obviously do.
The panel on a WB doesn’t remove like that ,you have to remove the outer casing then the facia drops down

Ok I have a few questions.

1.) What possible use could Aitkens have for a suicide vest? Did he just ask Nadia for one so that he had one around, just in case? I mean if he's proper underworld kingpin surely he just nails peoples head to the floor rather than set people off a'wandering in a shirt full of semtex?

2.) Why did Chanel (god I hate her.) just go "Ok then, I'll tell you everything," when Budd cornered her in her flat? He had no gun or any external threat to her so why did she just cave? If Aitkens is this big underworld boss she must know he'll find her and kill her. Same goes for Craddock in the interview suite, she must know she's a dead woman walking but there was no sign of any deal being struck?

3.) Why did Budd take Chanel (god I hate her.) along to meet Aitkens at Craddocks place? Surely he could have just handcuffed her to a radiator in her flat and nicked the keys to worlds most obvious undercover car to follow Aitkens? How did he know that there wasn't a hidden weapon somewhere in the WMOUC with which Chanel (god I hate her.) could have come out with and dropped him while his back was turned?

4.) How did Aitkens men manage to turn off the CCTV in the lecture theatre for almost exactly the same amount of time that Lurch of the SIS managed to at the hotel? Or was that just a coincidence?

5.) Why was Chanel (god I hate her.) dressed like a show jumper from the Year 3000?

And the most obvious one...

6.) Why, just like baddie in a Bond film, did Aitkens not just shoot Budd in the head and make it look like suicide instead of the long walk around scenic (if totally deserted) London? They all knew he was suicidal, if he succeeded this time then all the loose ends would have been tied up, he wouldn't be able to say that he wasn't the inside man and behind the plot they were trying to frame him for, so all the blame for it could be placed on one deranged brain damaged Bodyguard.

& why do I hate Chanel (god I hate her.) so much? Because it was all a game to her. A little rich girl playing with gangsters and terrorists but presumably she believed that Daddies money & connections would make sure nothing truly nasty would happen to her and she would just walk away scott free. I think the series would have been made if Budd had just coldly tipped her over her balcony and we had a fleeting glimpse of her startled face as she realised it wasn't actually all a big laugh.

But yes I loved it and I can't wait for the second series!!!

Must confess, i said to my wife, "Is she going over the balcony now?" But then I've watched too many Ray Winston gangster films. hehe

They do if they are in the habit of burying things at the bottom of high walls.

No-one looked in the plastic bag. Might have been a bar of chocolate with the compromat still concealed in his boiler idea

We were absolutely gripped by 1-4 but ep 5 really killed the momentum, particularly as by that point we were still struggling to remember who worked for each service. It felt like they were just planting the seeds for any one of about 67 different plot twists in the final episode.

Had it been a longer series that would have been the point we called it a day, but knowing it was only 6 episodes we carried on.

I just assumed it was a WB because the drop down flap appeared to have that little window to see the oval blue operating light.

Only on PH, if we can't argue about car models it's boilers, but does it matter? Apparently folks are hiding stuff in their boilers now, though the photo I saw of a stash of secret Snickers isn't going to do so well.
hehe

No longer a permitted word within Metropolitan Police.

As someone asked the other day, I always thought "lickety split" meant going at a fast pace, now I'll probably be on suspension.
