And?
It’s a drama of fiction made to a budget and was very good.
Even if you don’t think it was good Netflix is already in a bidding war and will win the rights to season2 they clearly do. Plus if you don’t pay for Netflix you can rub hands with glee and never have to see it again.
I didn't say that it wasn't good, in fact I quite enoyed it as a series, however the last episode had so many plot holes you could drive a bus through. The whole EOD scene was just utter rubbish and badly researched. Will I watch the next one, of course It’s a drama of fiction made to a budget and was very good.

Did we ever get any back story to Chanel?
I assumed that she was probably related to the organised crime guy (sister or maybe daughter) who had had a good education on the back of the dodgy money, which would explain the smart accent but chavvy name. Although a family background like that would probably have raised alarm bells for working at the Home Office.

That’s expecting a level of depth sadly beyond this show.I assumed that she was probably related to the organised crime guy (sister or maybe daughter) who had had a good education on the back of the dodgy money, which would explain the smart accent but chavvy name. I think a lot of people seem to be marking it down for some of the red herrings. Surely the entire reason there were so many loose ends was to make the conclusion as ambiguous as possible? I appreciate why that annoys people, but would it not be horribly predictable if everything followed through to a linear conclusion?
Furthermore, it's clear there's going to be at least one further series, so leaving some ambiguity and open ends is to be expected. Why would anyone want to watch Series 2 if everything was concluded now. Maybe some of the obvious 'errors' are exactly that. Obvious because it's not all as straight forward as it now seems. Who's to say the Home Secretary isn't still alive, and isn't more involved than it initially seems. How do we know she didn't play Budd like a kipper? Was the intention all along perhaps to shake up the police, remove those in the way of her attempts to become Prime Minister and come out of the end of it all looking like a hero? I guess those of us who watch series 2 will find out!

Raising Julia from the dead is a bit of a stretch, and I do mean strrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeettttttttccccccchhhh.
However, Julia's identical twin sister, convinced Budd is responsible for her sister's death, is now hell-bent on revenge and as it turns out, it was her that Budd was knobbing, so she's also insanely jealous that he's gone back to his wife and kids. And then it turns out Julia really isn't dead and in an ironic twist has to save Budd from her evil twin sister.

Not necessarily. No-one was being charged with murder. The three that were culpable in the bombing were being charged with conspiracy to murder. No-one was being charged with murder. Surely this could potentially mean she's still alive?

Good shout there Good fun TV, suspended disbelief and just sat back and enjoyed it, such that only the taped finger/DMS grated a bit.
Better than 90% of the crap shown on terrestrial TV and plot holes comparable to most Hollywood movies. Somehow anything on the BBC that is not 100% accurate and brilliant gets people gnashing and bashing though.

How would the public react in real life if we were officially told the Home Secretary had been killed in a terrorist attack, her funeral had been announced and attended by her close family.....only to be then told 'only joking she's fine lolz'?Surely this could potentially mean she's still alive?
It's completely unbelievable she could still be alive, it would be more like a spoof show if they brought her back from the dead rather than a gritty drama which is what I assume it's trying to be?
A lot of the 'holes' raised don't really matter to the outcome.
One thing that puzzled me was in the closing 'news' report though, was that the compromising material resulted in the PM and Bontemps from MI5 being suspended. I couldn't understand why he would have backed Longcross sharing the material with the Home Secretary if it was capable of back-firing on him too.

I saw it as a bit of action hokum loosely based on reality, much like a Bond film is. I don't think it was ever intended to be more than that so I've no complaints.
You imagine how good it could have been though...................if they'd employed the services of the PH Continuity, Ballistics, Bombmaking, Police Rules of Engagement and Boiler Recognition Consultants PLC?

In all seriousness, why only charge them with conspiracy to murder though?

I agree but if they can bring Bobby back from the dead (Dallas), they can bring the Home Secretary back
In all seriousness, why only charge them with conspiracy to murder though?
Because they didn't actually murder her - that was down to whomever it was that placed and detonated the bomb under the stage. They supplied the tools, equipment and knowledge of her movements required to perform the act of murder, and were aware that their actions were leading to her murder. Hence conspiracyIn all seriousness, why only charge them with conspiracy to murder though?

Ah, i understand. But is it possible to be charged with conspiracy to murder if the murder bid failed?
Yes, I'd have thought so, because the crime is the conspiracy, not the murder.Like planning a terrorist attack - the person is guilty even before it has been carried out. No actual harm done, but rightly we make the planning a crime as well.
