I'm sure its on here but banks thinking they are social services. fk off. You'd turf your customers out of their homes in a split second if you wanted to (and have done).
Agreed, all the high street banks seem to be going down this route now, like they're the ones helping you out rather than the other way round.
Isn't this true for all businesses that advertise?? They trott out the whole 'we are there for the customer' B/S, but in truth they're only in it to make money.

That's the reason that every business starts up, to make money. Don't get me wrong, i am not against that at all. I just wish businesses would stick to advertising the benefits/qualities of their product, rather then trying to convince me they are doing it for my benefit.

Update:

Halifax have now completely thrown the 'woke' baby out with the bath water.

The revised version of the advert discussed above, now only has the 'obvious eye candy' and 'Random caucasian ginger bloke' starring.

I fear Halifax will be getting a 'F-' for their Diversity Report this year !!!
Hardly, there are still 3 black persons featured in the advert.

Have we had the current Gousto advert? The music being OMD's Enola Gay.

No doubt the ad company googled the words "mothers little boy" and thought they had hit on the perfect song. I mean, 80s nostalgia, great tune, what's not to like?

Well, other than Little Boy being a direct reference to the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima. Just 66,000 deaths and as many people afflicted by severe illness. That's all.

Enola Gay, is mother proud of little boy today?
This kiss you give, it's never ever gonna to fade away...

These games you play, they're going to end in more than tears some day
Enola Gay, it shouldn't ever have to end this way...

On the plus side, they did actually use the original OMD track, not some feeble cover, and if it introduces a new generation to OMD's work then so much the better.

Their follow-up ad will feature a young girl being set on fire.

I used All4 the other day to watch something
How many adverts? I thought live tv was bad enough but streaming is just ridiculous.
At least on my pvr I can wind through them, the ad agencies must have had a field day when the pvr be ame yesterday's technology

As for the Enola Gay thing, maybe we need to go and get all woke on them,go organise some protests outside their offices and watch them grovel on their social meedya.

PDSA Percy wasn't just hit by a van, because daft dog in the road, no, it was a "Speeding" van. Thus creating a victim, absolving his owner of any responsibility, and creating a villian, all at once.

Just like Quince the guide dog, saving his owners life from a "Speeding" car coming, rather than just a car coming.

It's such bks.

the Weetabix advert voiceover, they seem to think you can just put anything in front of "abix" and it works brilliantly. ttsabix

Nationwide are back (again!!) with the crass poetry - this one about the origin of building societies. Perhaps somebody can brick up the PR and advertising agency folk in a newly built brick wall!!

Its a bit like the time Carling Black Label's advertising company thought it would be a good idea to use Six Underground as the soundtrack for selling lager.

A song which is basically about coming down from a drugs trip....

I think the advert lasted less than a month til the plug was pulled.

On that, I really dislike the new trend for using the word "wellness".

One thing that's been bugging me is the new advert by Barclays and I'm 90% certain that the background music is a slowed down version of The Prodigy - Out of Space.

I expect everyone else already knows this but I'm chuffed to have remembered it.
