+1 from me on this one as well. Granted it's not Citizen Kane but the scenes shot with USS Florida are pretty cool as are the 'making of' extras.

Anything with Steven Segal mentioning CIA, SEALS, SOG, KFC and Special Forces or whatever makes me laugh. However Lewis Collins oddly had the physique for special forces, most are squat, have a build for endurance and usually between 23 and 35.

Some of the actors in 13 Hours are believable but don't get Mark Wahlberg in Lone Survivor.

Eric Bana however is a very believable actor in action films, be it Black Hawk Down or Lone Survivor.

This is why I can't agree with people calling for Tom Hiddleston to be the next James Bond. He's about as intimidating as a kitten.
I'd like to see Rupert Penry-Jones as Bond after his stint as the rogue MI6 agent in Lucky Man.

Agreed. Anyone know why there have been no repeats?

I doubt there was much difference at Jesse in the seals and wrestling, save for how ripped he got later on. He was always into weights and being a unit.

The SEAL guys I met in the eighties were generally wiry fkers, the USMC was where the bulked out hoo-ra guys were. Maybe times have changed.

He lifted weights in college, but I mean, I don't know, he has a naturally big build. I've been a fan of Jesse for years; seal, biker, wrestler, mayor, actor, governor, non bleeder (due to time).

that reality TV show on UK channels - SAS thing.

It's like Big brother - I think that's really good to be honest.

1. the guys that are the DS are actually really ex special forces and clearly are what real SF look like. I.e. fairly normal and quite scary.
2. the guys that they put through the show, the people who get to the end, are rarely body builder types.

I was particularly impressed when Foxy to the Wales training run and smashed all of the much younger types - even though he is big, and quite a bit older.

I thought that was really impressive to beat the young fit whippets that didn't actually have to be an all rounder, they could just be fit.

One of my colleagues is ex-army and we were doing some work on an Army base. As we were driving out we passed a squad of blokes at the end of a training run and clearly knackered, some helping the worst of the stragglers. Not a lot of singing about eskimo pussy being mighty cold, I observed. My colleague laughed and said that these guys would still be running after their USMC counterparts had keeled over. He said stamina not strength was the important factor.

too many look 'soft' and unbelieveable. They need to have a 'real world hardness' about them, but most don't and it becomes a chore to watch. In the last series of strike back, the women looked harder than the male lead..
This is my point. I'm not taking about size and build, but the air or intensity needed to carry it off. Arnie, Stallone are all obviously caricatures; but Ryan Phillipe as a sniper - nope not buying it.

Martin Sheen in "Apocalypse Now" seems plausible, Tom Berenger as Sgt Barnes in Platoon also, and I also liked Jon Bernthal's Punisher - although all 3 are basically mentally unhinged and I'm not implying that "real" SF are nutters.

He's on the far left of this pic.

I suppose it's worth mentioning that his Vietnam antics have been called into question and whether he was still about when his unit morphed from Underwater Demo specialists to bullet stting supermen.

He wasn't punched by probably PDSD suffering Chris Kyle either.

It seems whilst the UK lot seem more coy and private, the US ones can be a bit gobstery.

Yeah, his arms are a lot smaller there, but it's clear he's huge next to everyone else. I'd probably say he's around 15 stone there. I know the Chris Kyle stuff is bullst, that guy was a fantasist, but has anyone else called Jesse's history into question?

Ben Roberts Smith isn't exactly small and he's hardly unique in that regard in the SASR.

I don't think you'll ever really find a proper stereotype.

Following them all on IG and Twitter. Really like Foxy and Ant. I thought Billy was a bit of a tt on the show but he comes across on social media as a really good chap.

On the subject of the Predator franchise, Adrian Brody was horribly miscast in Predators. I could accept him as the sneaky assassin type, but not the gravel voiced badass.
But he’s faaaassstt

I thought the same but recently watched it again and enjoyed it.

That guy from kong island playing sas not only was he miscast as a badass his character was pretty much not needed he didn’t do anything. He’s good in avengers though.
