I will add though that the few minutes in RO that we got to see Vader in action had me squealing like a school girl.
yes and yes...which reminds of these, queen is so fitting for Vader, that scene with musical accompaniment https://youtu.be/ZGM2-8UknDU

Better than Rogue One?
While I enjoyed Rogue One and it's probably the best film of the new bunch as an actual piece of film making, it didn't quite capture the tone of Star Wars for me. It was way too dark and serious for a Star Wars movie which I know is oh so hip these days but just felt a bit off for me. Star Wars for me is fairy-tales in space, not greek tragedy so the soldier with PSTD and the ending were far too dark for me but then I have the same complaint about ESB which everyone else seems to love. Personally I prefer the much more upbeat ANH, I guess I'm just a sucker for a happy ending.I will add though that the few minutes in RO that we got to see Vader in action had me squealing like a school girl.
Mandalorian isn't taking itself too seriously but not in the awful misjudged slapstick way that TLJ tried to do it, it's tone is just right IMO and gives me the Star Wars tingles when I watch it, something TFA only did in parts and TLJ pretty much never did.

To some RO is one of the better SW films because it's not so light hearted and actually was kind of dark in places.
Yeah I do get that but for me Star Wars always works best as a fairy tale with an innocent and warm heart, wizards and nights with laser swords battling bad guys in masks, rescuing princesses and saving the day. When it starts to take itself too seriously, politics and taxation in the prequels, PTSD, rain soaked misery and melancholy endings it loses some of it's magic for me. Not every franchise has to be so serious. I was fortunate enough to get a copy off a colleague yesterday of Ep1 and Ep2. I really enjoyed it. It definitely "feels" like Star Wars.
The music wasn't quite right for me, but not too jarring. I like the plot as far as it's gone so far. The right level of Star Wars comedy, like the lizard monkey being roasted and watched by another in a cage. The Jawa's turning down a load of credits for the parts they stole, but wanting an egg, that we all (or I did at least) would hold some value of some sort, only to ripped open and them going mad for the contents, eating it! I thought that was funny).
I think it may be hinting that all of Yoda's species are force sensitive, hence everyone wants Baby Yoda.
Some of the dialect and acting was a bit off, but not too much, the clients accent felt strange, but on reflection this was a good thing.
The number of aliens in it, from the movies, but also new aliens, though agreed, the first contract just appeared to be a human with blue fur and big ears.
All in all though, really enjoyed it and looking forward to Ep3.

and yet ESB is considered the best in the series...yeah, but they're not going through brexit....
OK OK OK, bear with me here....I was thinking about the ending, and the last note it ends on, with Luke and Leia looking out into space...hugging? holding hands? ans hopeful, as Lando signs off with, 'we'll find them' or something.....sooooooooo, yeah, it's all doom and gloom leading up to it, but the actual final scene, when I thought about it, is pretty hopeful.

Can someone tell me how I can see this in the UK NOW! Please.
To be honest, there's probably something to be said for waiting. It's been great, but... It's pretty slow paced with little dialogue, short episodes and a short series (8 episodes) Might be better binge watching the whole thing.

Err daddy cool you probably want to remove your post ASAP, it's a banning offence.
I thought it was just posting actual links to copyright material that was against the rules? (I didn't post any links). I did use the name of a specific torrent webpage though, so have removed that.Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
