Star Wars - The Mandalorian
Discussion
I quite enjoyed the first episode, far too much like a cliched western though. What was going on with the music, very strange and mildly annoying! I just hope it's not going to be a predictable plot. As soon as I saw the little green thing at the end I thought I bet the plot goes in a certain direction, but I hope it's not that predictable.

Normally these sort of things go, get the target , find out the target is pretty/cute and then decide not to take it back to the customer (who it turns out is the bad guy), customer sends baddies after you, but good guys also want in, bounty hunter has a heart after all and ends up helping good guys get the prize.
Han Solo, is that you... (kind of)Oakey said:
Episode 1: you have to learn to ride this Blurgh, it's the only way you can get to your destination
Episode 2: makes the return journey... on foot.
They can make any journey on foot, but to arrive fresh and ready to take on multiple enemies then it's better to let something else take the strain and if there are no land speeders go by Blurrg.Episode 2: makes the return journey... on foot.

Imagine how much easier it would have been had he just flown a bit closer to the camp in his fking spaceship to begin with.
They could hear his ship, or even have scanners to detect it if he's too close.Actually enjoyed the second episode a lot more. Probably because Jawas always amuse
Anyway, just read an interesting theory that ties this in with Clone Wars. I'm not too up on expanded universe, but...
Doctor Pershing wears a patch on his arm that bears a strong resemblance to uniform in Attack of the clones. We're all assuming this is a new Yoda but what if Yoda was cloned? We know the baby is around 50 in this so would have been cloned back in the year when Anakin himself was born
As I say, all theory, but interesting nonetheless.

Exploding Jawa's, absolutely brilliant!
Ooooudiiniiiiii!
So far the best Star Wars thing to come out of the House of Mouse by a country mile. Proof that if you hire the right people who get Star Wars, you can do it justice,.
Shame they let prioritising political correctness over story, writing and pretty much everything else ruin the main movies.

Better than Rogue One?
While I enjoyed Rogue One and it's probably the best film of the new bunch as an actual piece of film making, it didn't quite capture the tone of Star Wars for me. It was way too dark and serious for a Star Wars movie which I know is oh so hip these days but just felt a bit off for me. Star Wars for me is fairy-tales in space, not greek tragedy so the soldier with PSTD and the ending were far too dark for me but then I have the same complaint about ESB which everyone else seems to love. Personally I prefer the much more upbeat ANH, I guess I'm just a sucker for a happy ending.I will add though that the few minutes in RO that we got to see Vader in action had me squealing like a school girl.
Mandalorian isn't taking itself too seriously but not in the awful misjudged slapstick way that TLJ tried to do it, it's tone is just right IMO and gives me the Star Wars tingles when I watch it, something TFA only did in parts and TLJ pretty much never did.
