some guy won one a single event, doesn't really compare to being the 2nd-most successful competitor in the history of your sport, does it? Definitely one of the best ever, possibly the best of all time.

Well it does compare, more than favourably, in that he was the victor in arguably one of sport's toughest events. Competitively speaking, cycling is a zillion times more competitive than Formula 1.

.....and he should have won it again this year. This has been one of the best year's in F1 that I can remember but one driver was head and shoulders above the rest.
