Hi all

Back in March I was in the company van and as I was turning to the right off a main road, another car waiting to pull onto the main road pulled out and hit my rear quarter, the other drive admitted fault, no huge damage and the van was driveable, reported to my company and they sorted it all out.

Now the thing that completely slipped my mind is I never thought to report this to my own private insurance and I took a new policy out in June. Now I’m
Not making any claims etc but I’m a little concerned about what to do, if I ring up and explain will they cancel my policy thrus blackmarking me or simply up my monthly premium?

Nobody any advice?, this was a genuine mistake on my part, Its not as though I’m bricking it and want to fess up as I’ve had an accident and need to make a claim

I’m considering ringing about tommorow for other quotes with the accident stated and then cancelling my current, however I’m nearly half way through my current cover

I just don’t want to come clean and have my current provider cancel my cover for obvious reasons

Ive been told by family to keep quiet till renewal and move provider however I dont wish to do this incase I need my cover between now and then, aswell as it being fraudulent

Its worth stating I’m late twenties driving a rather expensive sports car. I have zero convictions and other than this non fault no other claims etc. If i was driving a cheap everyday car I would have more confidence in my current insurer not cancelling my cover and instead upping my premium

Yes,

Ive heard absolutely nothing about it until I phoned my manager today to ask, he also had no idea so gave me the insurance number for me to check

The claim is settled and went down as non fault fully recovered

Personally I'd forget about it.

The insurance claim with the company insurance will be against the company and I'd wager you as the driver will never be out in the open for other insurers to find out about.

Nope, his name as the driver will have been logged by the company's insurers on the CUE.

With the type of car I’d say it’s no guarantee my current insurer would have offered cover

Even with over a dozen years NCB and zero points

With it being a broker I can’t do a couple of online quotes with and without the accident.
