- There has to be more to Jack's dreams than that syndrome (can't spell it!). That was the quickest resolution ever and a miss direct I feel. No idea how Picards body plays into that though. I was thinking, Jack is the first offspring of ex borg, I wonder if that has something to do with it.......

Watched episode 7 this morning and thought it was a bit meh.
We did get a load of new information to be fair, so much so it felt like an exposition dump.
The whole Data / Lore thing, while well acted was just a bit too much of a convenience to allow the baddies the upper hand.
I also wonder if the writers got Picard mixed up with professor X too.

I’ve just finished it and I agree about Lore, all a bit too handy. The other thing was that they just took the Bridge? 7 says they’re not going to take the Bridge and then 5 seconds later they’ve taken the Bridge with only 1 shot fired. We did get a load of new information to be fair, so much so it felt like an exposition dump.

Or taking things further, why is everyone stuck running around with hand weapons to deal with things when you've got a big computer, a load of tech and could have some really serious automated internal defenses?

So, in the future, has everyone COMPLETELY lost the ability to stop a lift between floors in order to trap the occupants?
If we're going down that route, why all the convoluted plans to spring the traps when you could just grab the whole lot in one go as soon as they walked onboard? The number of times Star ships get taken, hijacked, or sabotaged in the future is a bit stupid tbh. Transport inhibitors to stop unauthorised beam in\out, sleeping gas, stun phazers set in the walls\ceilings\, secret security lockdown doors between sections to trap intruders.
There are literally a hundred things you could do to stop intruders taking over a ship now, let alone 500 years in the future.

Also, maybe think about putting a password on the computer…
You know, the idea of a dedicated, single terminal through which commands are typed into the computer - ala Alien - seems like a sensible security precaution to me. Slightly less responsive interface, though.

You'd have no jeopardy then. There are literally a hundred things you could do to stop intruders taking over a ship now, let alone 500 years in the future.

A bit like firing at stuff and missing. A 1990's smart missile could do better. There are literally a hundred things you could do to stop intruders taking over a ship now, let alone 500 years in the future.
