I went to a preview of the series this evening. It's good. I really like the interplay between the presenters. There is much more of an "all in this together" than there ever was with CHM.
They showed programme one and clips from programme two. One excellent thing was no SIARPC which is the bit most people use to put on a cup of tea. There is a proper review of the Atom 4, which calls out old Atoms for understeering. No mention of the other major fault. Does the new Atom have self-cancelling indicators? As ever the three men messing around in cars (this week £500 convertibles) goes on too long. But the stunt at the end of the programme is mind-blowingly awesome.
One of the clips was the McLaren Speedtail Vs an F35. Again an amazing piece of TV, but I really hope they look at the car properly too. I came away thinking it's a bit like watching a cookery programme where they had a super celebrity on to watch the food being cooked and spent the whole time chatting to the cleb and not mentioning the food. Yes, good TV, not a good cookery programme. Still here's hopin the Speedtail is looked at properly too.
Two telling things from the Q&A.
When Chris Harris was asked what was coming up in the series he listed countries before cars.
Lots of refernces about it being "A team effort". Lots of poeple in thye audience (red carpet screening, Leicester Square) worked on it. But in among all the "team effort" comments was one on "that's not how it was before".
I'm really looking forward to the series.

I really don't think what I said - most of which was opinion - was a spoiler. As others have said, all was in the previews. Indeed at the event they did call out one particular gag for not posting as a spoiler but said everything else was fair game.
You said there was no SIARPCYou said they mentioned the previous Atom understeering
You said there was a stunt at the end
You said Chris Harris answered a question
You said there were 3 men messing around in cars
Quite frankly you've ruined it for me, and a lot of other people. I wasn't going to watch it anyway but I'll be back on Monday to say it was crap

I honestly wouldn't worry about a few spoilerphobes - thanks for the insight into the new series. Edited by Dr Doofenshmirtz on Wednesday 22 January 16:12
