BBC Top Gear Thread 2021/2022
Discussion
What I really don't like about SIARPC is the way it feels like Top Gear is apologising for being about cars.
"Here is a bit for people who don't really like cars, we'll put in some famous people for you".
I like SIARPC when they have the kind of guest who understands the difference between the engine in a Stratos and a 246, but no other specialist programme feels the need to apologise for what it is about. I thought that SIARPC was particularly rubbish.

The same Tiff that shunted Nigel Mansell into a bridge?
Was that actually Tiff's fault though?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVvebZwmLKU

This week's guests didn't even appear to be plugging anything, they just turned up and had a chat and did their lap and the barrier challenge.
You can't get too much of Emelia, in my opinion Leithen said:

Recorded before Question Time?In regards to the Baja, they were with Gordon’s Speed Team. I can’t think of a more professional team to do it with.
They can do it another 5x and I’d wager they’re not going to get it to the end, it’s so f*cking hard.
Someone said they’d have done it better with a roadbook like Dakar. Slight issue is that no road books are issued. You are solely reliant on the GPS.
You ‘pre run’ and make you own notes marking them typically in the GPS with significant detail for the 2 weeks prior to the event. There are so many hazards and things that will literally kill you I wouldn’t have bothered leaving Ensenada without it functioning. It’s nuts, they were doomed from the off.
Also while the co driver is hugely accomplished it was another handicap not to have someone with specific local knowledge. I’m sure if you asked Robbie Gordon he was amazed they got as far as they did!
As for Tiff v Harris one was a professional driver that reached the pinnacle of the sport and is a fair journalist the other is a professional journalist that’s reached the pinnacle of his career and a fair driver
I do hope they have another crack at the baja with a proper budget. I’d guess that was a £50k attempt - to do it right they need 5x that easy.
