Maybe. I do accept that I (incorrectly) watch TG with petrolhead specs on rather than as the general entertainment programme it really is but I'm not sure having a deliberately annoying character is a good thing.

Really liking this series of top gear, yes McGuiness can be annoying but there is some proper paliness going on and the content is really decent.

I think this is better than the last year or two of Clarkson, Hammond and May, when the format was a bit tired.
