I love the idea of you running to the moderators to ask them to ban someone who's stayed on topic, resisted personal attacks, but whose opinions you disagree with.
I haven't run to the moderators. It's not really that people disagree with your opinion, it's the relentless way you keep going on and on trying to fight and overpower everyone in the thread. You pretend you know it all, but keep getting things wrong time and time again. Even when someone calls you out for being wrong, you make silly excuses to cover it.
You're the same in other threads. You just irk people and don't seem aware of your conduct and misread people and situations.
Mod edit.

'How We Made Top Gear' by a former script editor: https://jalopnik.com/how-we-made-top-gear-17138822...
Some parts were tightly scripted (car reviews), others weren't (most of the 'in the field' stuff it seems):
"A three header item out in the field would be much looser. Sometimes so loose a director would read the script and slowly sigh the words, Is that it? Ideally, there’d be a studio introduction that set out the logic of the story, some attempt to structure the start, maybe a few choice gags for each presenter to attack his colleagues’ choice of cars (though they preferred to keep the really good ones to themselves and unleash them like Indiana Jones’s whip when least expected) and then a broad attempt to order the item’s activities. Even so, one of the most common words on a Top Gear script was a vague, director-baiting place holder that simply said, ‘whatever’."
You can't say that sort of thing on here! It makes all the 'it's all scripted' know-alls look like complete pillock said. That just will not do.Some parts were tightly scripted (car reviews), others weren't (most of the 'in the field' stuff it seems):

Is anyone else slightly concerned by the number of people who fall asleep at the drop of a hat?
"I'm not mentally stimulated. The only alternative is to slip into unconsciousness."
If it was happening to me, I'd be making an appointment with my GP.
I'm presuming you never sleep? Or do you remain 'mentally stimulated 24/7?"I'm not mentally stimulated. The only alternative is to slip into unconsciousness."

Watched, enjoyed despite the fact there is clearly only so much you can do with cars as entertainment. Would be good to see a genuine rave between the presenters in cars that are handicapped to their skill level, I dont think CHM ever did that did they? I like the presenters, the accents don't bother me at all. Perhaps I'm a chav?
I thought raves were banned....where would the sound system go?I watched The Grand Tour Seamen special last night (for probably the fourth time - lockdown does funny things to a guy), and it got me to wondering whether there's a generational thing going on here.
The montage when Clarkson pulls on the beret, switches out the flag on his boat, and guns it off down the Mekong to the sound of Creedence Clearwater made me grin from ear to ear (around 49min, for those of you watching along at home).
It then dawned on me that this scene might not mean anything to a Brit under the age of 30. I'm not much older than that, but probably enough to know what it represents.
And instead, the under-30s (TG's target?) might associate much more closely with Paddy on Take Me Out (or doing stand-up), or with watching Flintoff on A League of their Own (or his cricket heroics in the noughties).

I watched a few of the first season of TGT and one or two of the second series. It was shight.
What I didn't then do was haunt a thread on TGT telling everyone who wanted to discuss the latest stunt or show how much I hated it. Why would I?
Carry on with S2, it gets noticeably better, and S3 was every bit as good as the old TG days in my opinion. What I didn't then do was haunt a thread on TGT telling everyone who wanted to discuss the latest stunt or show how much I hated it. Why would I?

Yeah, why would you when you could save it up for a couple of years and then let everyone on the Top Gear thread know? What I didn't then do was haunt a thread on TGT telling everyone who wanted to discuss the latest stunt or show how much I hated it. Why would I?

I'll say this again, for the benefit of the hard-of-hearing...
You're aware that all of this is meticulously, painstakingly scripted, right?
And that none of the presenters are involved in writing that script, right?
Paddy and Flintoff aren't mocking Harris. They are reading from a script, where the writers thought it would be funny to mock Harris, because it's an easy and obvious gag that Average Joe will associate with. A bit like when CH&M made inferences about May's sexuality or gags about Hammond's height.
It worked better for CH&M because they'd known each other for years, so it felt inherently more believable and 'natural'. But it was still 100% scripted.
For what it's worth, I agree with most of your other points about the two celebs (let's be honest, both could have been guests on SIARPC) not being car enthusiasts in the way that CH&M were. It's quite clear from their casting that the producers have given up on the old format of people who love cars talking passionately about them, and moved deliberately towards something more light-entertainment based.
The only other thing I disagree with is looking down your nose at jetskis. They are excellent fun, albeit with a challenging ownership profile.
As per a previous poster, you seem very very confident about this - have you any evidence or experience to prove it? As I think a proof point that it isn't 100% scripted - in Episode 2 when McGuinness throws a pillow at Harris whilst he's driving. He looks genuinely annoyed, in a way that if it was 100% scripted I don't think he could fake. You're aware that all of this is meticulously, painstakingly scripted, right?

The chemistry just isn't right - McGuinness and Flintoff's "banter" with Harris has an undercurrent of sneering, and like the three of them don't get on - a bit like they would go for a beer together but end up at the end of the night in a fight once inhibitions loosened and their true feelings were known. Even if it is 100% scripted, the delivery would suggest it's not that harmonious.

S3 was the bestProbably better than a lot of the later stuff they did as Top Gear.
I just stumbled across this thread a few days ago. I had no idea the new TG series had started so watch the 3 available episodes over the weekend. I thought they were all great. These three presenters are the best we have had since CHM left.
Does anyone know what happened to the Lambo that Paddy crashed? Was it written off? Will this put others off from lending their cars to TG?
Looking forward to tonight’s episode.

Seen clips of this already for tonights episode and they're already tweeting about it but I can't help but feel this is incredibly dangerous
I know they've done something similar before but I think the guy up top was steering but still caged in ?
I can't see what hope you'd have if you were sat up top and the car rolled, which going by their current standards isn't exactly unheard of.
