Not sure why they used the cars they did however, a DBS and Conti GT would have made more sense.
Likely because they were the cars that the manufacturers would pay them (or give and insure them for free) to promote.

Some PHers just love jumping in on an individual they disagree with. Internet herd mentality, I guess...

Have you anything else to offer than;

- it's scripted
- it was better years ago

If so, just add it to that list and it will help keep the thread concise. You seem unable to grasp that most people watch it for entertainment purposes.

You need to take a step back from this thread.

We've all twigged why you behave the way you do, but it's not good to read and isn't healthy for you either.

Why do you get angry and upset when I point out that something so obviously scripted is obviously scripted?

Why do you get so defensive about anything that could be perceived as remotely negative about a TV show that you have no personal connection to?

If you can't deal with reading what people have to say about a TV show on an internet forum without resorting to unpleasant personal attacks (that the mods saw fit to censor previously because they were so unpleasant), I think it's possibly you who should "take a step back".

Some people take life much too seriously...

From the look of the trailer for the final episode of the series on Sunday, some people are not going to receive it well...

I don't get angry. I have never said anything about the script. I'm not getting defensive.

You keep getting your wires crossed. You keep picking fights with people whilst getting mixed up with who is who, who said what, and misunderstanding what people have said.

I can deal perfectly well with people offering their opinions. Have your say and move on. You don't need to fight everyone and repeat yourself relentlessly.

It's you that is taking this thread far too seriously and you that is getting clearly upset. You are winding people up and getting yourself wound up. It's not good for anyone.

For the sake of yourself and the thread please take a break.

Of course it's scripted it's an entertainment show.

Do you go on the other TV threads and when someone says they were surprised you shout "it's scripted"

We know that but it's funny and you just clog up all the pages with "it's scripted" no one cares.

You're absolutely right. I'm replying here while sitting on an extremely boring conference call, and read your name incorrectly.

My apologies.

Watched it last night on I player, not a bad episode

Not sure why they used the cars they did however, a DBS and Conti GT would have made more sense.
The 3 cars were all 'unconventional' GT offerings from each manufacturer, so it was an off-piste GT comparison. The McLaren GT is mid-engined supercar masquerading as a GT, the Bentley was longer 4 door saloon version of their GT bruiser, and the DBX is a jacked-up SUV version of the DB11. Like their GT's but with a little extra, I thought it was a good group.

Credit where it's due to Freddie and Paddy, being strapped on the roof barrelling down those narrow lanes carries serious danger should they clip one of the rocks on the inside, nowhere to hide if they rolled.

Overall a decent episode.

I don't see the harm in using the Aston DBX as a GT car. It's spacious, luxurious, fast enough and comfortable enough, yet, in reality, it's still pretty sporty and will outhandle most things, and within the confines of actually being sensible on public roads, it certainly will be quick enough.

Lot better this week! smile
I thought this week was better than last. Harris did a good job of the Stirling Moss tribute.

I can't help thinking that PM genuinely doesn't like CH. I might be wrong but when he's throwing 'funny' quips at him there always seems to be a bit of school bully needle thrown in there for good measure.

Did notice that when Harris and Flintoff where doing a piece together it seemed kinda awkward??
Where they were waiting at the bottom of the hill for Paddy? If so, yes - it jarred with me too.

It comes back to the point I've made previous (so I won't bang on), that the guys have a long way to go before their on-screen chemistry is believable for me.
Off camera, they do seem to like each other and it all seems far less awkward. I think the scripting makes it feel a bit like that at times; Flintoff isn't a natural presenter / actor and I don't think the acting part comes naturally to Harris.

One doesn’t have a link, but it’s been on TV a few times.

I had a genuine laugh out loud moment when Flintoff said why would he move to Germany for sausage when he can get Richmonds in Asda. Mainly because I could hear myself saying that. No idea if that was scripted or not but it felt absolutely genuine in the moment, I think you'd see through their acting in those moments if it was all word for word scripted, as comedic acting is extremely difficult to do well.

it's a light hearted entertainment programme don't see why "scripted" would be an issue.

That was either unscripted or well acted by Flintoff, made me chuckle either way.

As I've said before, hopefully the team will get a chance to continue for a good few years and grow into their roles/the programme.
